I noticed that most members have a quote for their signature, or something of the sort. I for one have five. Explain why you chose them and what they mean to you.
The first one is by Dave Matthews, I love music, and thought that was just a really funny quote.
The second is by my good friend Bryan from back in Seattle. He was a barista (what’s the male equivalent?) for a while and said that one time. It just stuck. Now it’s one of my favorite quotes. And of course, being form Seattle, coffee is my life.
The third I found in the cigar book I mentioned in a few others posts. I thought it was deep, and I loved it.
The fourth I used while proposing to my wife and thought it was important enough to be immortalized on the all mighty internet.
The fifth I found one day while perusing through a copy of The Economist and thought it was funny and true.

Your turn...

Douglas Adams (RIP) was the author of The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy books, and he wrote a book, later turned into a video game (or vice-versa, I can't recall) called "Starship Titanic". It's about a luxury liner (spaceship) that the AI went nuts, and is making the ship hurtle into the sun. The quote is from the elevator loud speaker. There were tons of sayings but that was the funniest.

Mine changes quite frequently. I hang out quite often in the chat room (now located on Mibbit.com, ch #cigarpass), and I like to take funny quotes that happen during the course of a chat session, and use them for my sig. Contrary to popular opinion, we're not a vile bunch of scum, and from time to time, some wisdom is passed around in there.

My quote now, however, is the first one I have not used from chat. It was from the board, but it's about chat. You can even click on it, and it will take you to the original quote.

I have two. One is a reminder not to drink too much. The other is a reminder that getting into a rut is only a small way of dying, and to kepe myself from getting into them.

Something that my grandfather always used to say.

My quote is words I live by in my job from Vegetius, the Roman military expert.

Something that my grandfather always used to say.

My mother had one similar to this one. She used to say "If children and old folks like you then you're ok."

I'm on my third one now. The first was a comment I found searching through old threads shortly after I joined CP. It was made by SamClemmons in regards to an individual that had posted the name of a particular "vendor" and never edited the post. The second was of a comment made by Bsneed51 to jfields and a reply from jfields.(Funny stuff) The current is just something that popped into my head about a week ago in a moment of solitude enjoying a good cigar. I want to believe I made it up as I don't actually remember hearing it or reading it anywhere. But, I know better as it's much too profound to have come from me! :sign:

Good topic btw!

edit: cause I can't count

Mine changes often. Right now it's representative of the best sports franchise in the entire world.
