Here it is in action. Anyone tried one of these?

I tried this one as well as two other versions of an ozone generator for a car and to me, they did very little. Plus, the constant ozone produced can have an adverse effect on some people...sore throat, dry nose, itchy eyes, etc.

This was the only one that I had limited success with in the car.....LINK

In the end, I stopped smoking so much in my car and when I occasionally do so, I spray a little something in there after airing it out from opening the windows.

Gary is right about this.  It is VERY BAD for anything living to have contact with the product while it is running and immediately after you run it.  We take all plants and animals out of rooms when we use the machines.  They do good for pet odors as well after you have cleaned up a mess of course.

Also, if you go to a janitorial supply house just ask for an odor digestor/eliminator and they will sell you a bulk gallon for less than $20.00.  This will last you a long time.  It only takes a couple of ounces to a bottle of water.  Make sure you get one that claims it is safe on fabric and test in a inconspicous area.

It is all about nuetralizing the odor you are trying to get rid of.  You don't want to try and "mask" the odor.  That is why the ozium does so well.

If you don't smoke and open the window when you drive , its the solution..... :)  .otherwise you use air fresh spray with choosing  the smell.

Rayan, stop posting.

Post an intro and figure out your translation.....quickly. I'm not reading this trash much longer.

Thank you, I never saw that one before. I would have to plug it in the back and use the rear cup holder.

If I left it in the front console I would pick it up and try to drink from it every now and then.......

Anyone know how these products would work on animal odors and/or accidents?

The Ozium would be too expensive for pet odors and is more of an air-wash. The Odorcide and another product out there called Big D are perfect for pet odors and way more cost effective. They're both concentrates that only use a few ounces of product in 32oz of water. Put that mixture in an empty spray bottle and you're good to go. You can buy stuff like this at almost any local Janitorial Supply store. You can even put it in a rental type carpet cleaner to clean & deodorize the rugs at the same time. The Big D is only about $18.00 a gallon and about $7.00 a quart by me in NJ. The Ordorcide is quite a bit more.
Thanks Gary, I will definitely seek this stuff out!!

Great info here!  had to put up with the smell this morning...it is not a big deal unless you are extremely hung over.  But in any sense, I find many methods here work, so I will not repeat it.

Thanks,

I like the first one in the link and going to give it a shot. It plugs right into the cigarette lighter. What the heck I do a lot of smoking in my car and for $6.99 not a lot too lose.

I found it here http://www.dinodirect.com/NEW-Car-Auto-Mini-Air-Purifier-Oxygen-Bar-Ozone-Filter-Blue.html#reviewsSwitchTab

Thanks for the info Robert.

Update:

I purchased these back on Feb 19 and got them in on Monday. I went with the:

CarJoy Car-Joy Car Auto Mini Air Purifier Oxygen Bar Ozone Filter Blue. I finally got them in on Monday and have been using it for 2 days. I bought three of them for about $21 bucks. Not to shabby and you can't hardly hear them. I asked one of my employees about what he thought of the smell in my car and said it wasn't as bad as it usually is and could smell something else. My business partner said the same thing and I myself can smell a difference.

I really don't know how long these last as I couldn't find any info on it and it will take about 3 weeks to get to you. Again just following up on a cheap product that might be worth your while if you smoke in your vehicle as often as I do.

So thanks Bayamos for the heads up on this product.

Glad to see it is working out. Not sure how long they will last but, then again, $21.00 for three is worth a try.  Have to pull the trigger myself. I'll keep you posted.

Update on the Update:

Well gentlemen it's been about a week now of using this product and I just popped in the 2nd one. It appears that this will only last about three days or I'm just smoking too much in my car.

I now have to give this product a Don't Buy rating.

You park in a garage just leave your windows open at night. Van windows are open all night weather permitting and I never notice the smell.

ETA: I could never really smell to good till now so maybe in a few weeks I'll have a different opinion.

Yes, I leave windows and sunroof open everyday. It still smells like an ash tray! The shit is I don't mind but everyone else does -screw them!

Burn a candle for a couple hours with all windows up.  Obviously, keep the candle safely contained.  Put it in a bucket or something.  I've done this several times in cars with leather seats and cloth.  Not only is the smoke smell gone, but your car will smell nicely of whatever scent your candle was.
