What smoke goes best with junk food

It's sunny and warm out on the deck so I just have to figure out what to smoke this afternoon. Any suggestions ???

What's your favorite smoke after chowing some greasy, junky food?

Maybe I'll have to have a Punch Rare Corojo Rothschild (aged 3 years), or a Don Pepin handroll (gifted to me by a BOTL early last year). I'm not sure what to have. Hmmmm. :whistling:

So I went with the Don Pepin JFR and it was absolutely fantastic! :love:

A BOTL had gifted me that Pepin probably a year or more ago. It had been resting quietly and it's chocolate brown wrapper was smooth like an otter and nice n' oily. The construction was spongy, firm. Quirky pigtail triple cap and unfinished foot were interesting. Prelight tastes were tobacco, woodsy, sweet, hint of spice. Draw was o.k. not too loose. I lit it and tasted strong spice for the first third and then the spicey taste mellowed. Smoke volume was decent, but not exceptional (I do prefer lots of smoke... like from a Padron '26 35 Maduro). The tobacco flavour from the Pepin was fantastic. Rich and smooth. Woodsy flavour that was oddly more sweet without any bitter flavour.

I think I may have found a "go-to" smoke. Now I just need to put my paws on more.

I am surprised to see Gino's East so high on your list. I've never been impressed with their pie. Their dough is always undercooked/raw. Uno/Due, and Lou Malnati's are the best Chi-town deep dish imo.

Lombardi's is awesome. I also like Famous Ray's in the Village. But, when I am in the Village, I typically go for Joe's over by 6th and Bleecker (after hitting the record shops).

I completely agree about Malnati's Chicago Deep Dish. You can even order pies online and have them delivered. Really good stuff :thumbs:

And those Pepin's are mighty tasty too

I've always had good luck with Gino's. I go on off times so maybe they pay more attention to the cooking. All I know is that I like it :thumbs:

Just because we have it doesn't mean we view it as the best. CPK does make some damn fine food but I'm not talking about their pizza. I'm no pizza aficionado, but I'd go to Georgio's in Studio City or Joe Peeps in North Hollywood if I wanted to get down and dirty.

L&B makes the best squares I had in Brooklyn, although their rounds aren't too good. I don't like Totonno's too much, they burn their bread.
