1969 started to bring changes not only to AFVN but how America saw the war. Civil and especially student unrest were not so widely reported in country for "morale" reasons, Mai Li massacre was a side story. While troop levels had decreased a little from the highs of 1968 they again rose to just over 540,000 in April of 1969 before starting to fall for good as "Vietnamization" started.
