In 1970 another Motown group, Rare Earth, recorded an 11 minute version which was cut down to 3:36 for radio play. It also made it to #7 on the Pop charts. A year later Rod Stewart recorded a 5:11 version for his album "Every Picture Tells A Story" and that reached #21.
