Brother. I am not saying I agree with what happened, but what did you expect?

Hey hey hey!... I am not saying that the SSG was right, I am only saying that "pointing out that he was a poor sport" was not wisest thing to do. Right or Wrong. It was confrontational. I know how SOME people that are pissed, full of adrenaline, full of testosterone, and a bucket head will react when confronted with "you are a poor sport." That may be true, he was a poor sport, but if you are going to say that...expect the possible, and extreme, result of being knocked down.

I did not create the situation, I don't condone the response, but I could have predicted it.

BTW...Doc... How did my mouth get me in trouble this time? The man asked "What the hell is wrong with people?" I told him. Would you have said the same thing... and then be surprised that the SSG did what he did?

Not trying to provoke a response. Just pointing out that it was a possibility.

C&G....apparently my fingers get me in trouble too. And I didn't even use the middle ones ...except for ERIODFKMNX & C.

I think if it went down exactly like Tim says it did, that he had every right to point out to SSG that he was blatantly being a poor sport.
Showing good sportsmanship was something I and many others have had drilled into our heads since grade school.
When the guy made a shitty reply.................Tim merely shrugged his shoulders and walked away.
I don't care what kind of "moment" they were in. The guy had no right to cold cock him.

Your post came off smacking of...... "Well you had it coming to you."
Plus, your saying "... Naw....I would have knock you on your ass." Does not really leave a good impression of you in my eyes. Leads me to believe your character is not much better than this SSG guy.

This and a few other comments were what Doc was referring to on the mouth still getting you into trouble thing.

I think you need to just say "My bad!" and walk away for awhile.

Tampa, "that little gem," refers to how I was as a younger...more trigger happy lad at 18-24...full of piss and vinegar. Always saying things to start a fight...just so I could throw a punch. In my profession I see a lot of ignorant, stupid things that ignorant, stupid people do. Yet, I don't sit there and say "Look, pal you had this coming to you," although it's true 99% of the time..and these people are definitely not folks I would ever give the time of day to outside of work. I certainly would not do that to someone here on the board because, even though I am not here to be every members' best friend, there is a modicum of civility and friendliness that goes along with the territory of being on one of these boards. And it's not even like you were polite about it. Calling the guy a smart-ass and pretty much telling him he had it coming is not the way you educate someone on the error of their ways. Look at the other members' responses ("Get well soon. Smoke some more cigars, etc" and then your own ("I would have knock you on your ass. You know why? Because you were being a smart ass") and I think you'll see what the problem is. Hell, I'm not saying you have to conform...just be civil.

2. Was he an Army Ranger, or was he Ranger qualified? Two different things, and I'm sure he would have loved you to point that out to him.

3. If he was wearing a Notre Dame jersey, he deserved whatever he got, hehe.

A few points of clarification.

1. I was not being a smart-ass, really, it was a flag football game for shit sake, no need to act like a Little baby
2. The guy playED for my unit's team, we are on the same side, he is not in my unit though....freelance
3. Wyatt - you nailed it with the ranger comment, just didn't think I need to go down that road with him at the time
4. C&G, remember that post you made about Tampa having you pegged all wrong, that works both ways buddy (see point 1 above)
5. The Notre Dame Jerseys were the only blue jerseys that would fill the order from eastbay at the time....no one on the team likes them either
6. I got GOOD drugs
7. C&G, thanks for the apology, and I am sorry it got out of hand, if not for the time difference, and the fact that I wanted to get in the rack, I could have added more detail as it went along to help.

I watched a guy get nailed with a Superman Monday night while we were sparring. Even with headgear...his head snapped back pretty good. I can't get any power behind them.
