Ouch, I can't list favorite songs, but that's not what you asked for!

so I'll list random songs that I often listen to with a lil history
Jazz:
Michael Brecker - Slings and arrows
I pretty much like all of Michael Brecker's songs. Great stuff, saw his brother, Randy Brecker, live at Stockholm Jazz. Amazing. I wish I had discovered cigars and whiskey at that time. It would have been heaven.
Miles Davis - Miles run
Well, most probably know that this is a giant in jazz and fusion history. This particular song is from the Bitches brew album, very nice. I like many of his albums, the album this song is from is not one of my favorites.
Other songs from the same genre:
Bob James Trio - Three mice blind, UMO Jazz Orchestra - Spanish Key, Wes Montgomery - Ecaroh
Rock/metal:
Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo child (Slight return)
You all know who this fella was  This is also one of his most famous songs, and it still kicks ass. Machine Gun is also amazing.
Rage against the machine - Calm as a bomb
Of all the bands I've listened to, RATM is probably the one I've listened to the most. Funny, I can't remember the names of half of the songs, usually just listened through the album over and over
Slayer - Angel of Death
This is one of my favorite trashmetal songs which I listen to often. The whole album, Regin in blood, is excellent trash/speedmetal.
Death - Scavenger of human sorrow
Great death metal. This is from the album The sound of perseverance, which is what you could call progressive death metal. Recommended if you want to try death metal
Iron Maiden - Aces high
Excellent heavy metal from the album Powerslave, which is probably their best album. I haven't listened much to their other albums, but Powerslave I know well.
The Beatles - Oh! Darling
I've liked The Beatles for a long time. It would be an insult if I tried to explain to you who they were

I'm sure you all know.
Other songs from these genres:
Captain Beyond - Mesmerization eclipse, Pink Floyd - Money, Opeth - The leper affinity, Arch Enemy - Beast of man, At the gates - Under a Serpent Sun, Nevermore - The riverdragon has come
Electronica:
Amon Tobin - Golfer vs. Boxer
This one is one of my alltime favorite artists in electronica. I can't describe the music exactly, but it sometimes stuns me with such amazing stuff. I highly recommend trying his songs (the album Supermodified is great).
Prodigy - Poison
Those who have any experience in electronica have heard of the Prodigy. This is just one of many great songs (from the album Music for the jilted generation).
Other songs from this genre:
Fatboy Slim - Right here, right now, Chemical Brothers - Dig your own hole, Sigur Ros - Svefn-G-Englar
Well, that was a rather lenghty post, but writing it felt like nothing!

I know I'm missing so many songs, oh well. Maybe you (anyone reading this) can get some nice ideas from my list.
P.S. I saw a "Now playing" thread stickied on another forum. A thread like that is nice for picking up new artists. Lots of spam though!
