Where the hell has Smokelaw1 been?

Idk, last I heard Gary was played halo with him online but that was a good week or so ago.
 
Have no fear, friends, I'm still alive and kicking.

Short story is....the day I was supposed to leave to head out to CA for a week, issues that I am not really at liberty to discuss caused my employment with the firm to end. Abruptly.
With my wife half way done being pregnant, this lead to a wee bit of anxiety, a decent bit of drinking, a fair amount of smoking, and not nearly enough Halo playing with Gary. Without a job, I have not had the need to spend countless hours in front of a computer, and hence my absence from CP.
Good news is, I signed a package today that will have me gainfully employed again starting a week from tomorrow. I'm glad to hear I was missed (at least by one of you), and I will try to spend more time filling your days with light-hearted humor in the days to come.
The new employer works in some pretty sensitive areas, and has a very strict internet policy, so I might not be on as much even when back in front of a computer full time.
In the meantime, keep your eyes out for the world famous "Smokelaw1 put a tad too much on his 'not-enough-discretion discretionary' credit card while between jobs and would rather sell cigars than explain to his hormonally challenged wife why he needed another couple custom flashlights" sales in the near future.

Good thing there is plenty of work for us lawyers. The planet is too crowded, there are too many rules, and people manage to need our help when the "bump" into life issues. Glad you found some new employment.

So what your saying is I have a short amount of time to get my ass to your place to play some Halo before words like 'responsibility' and 'obligation' rear their ugly heads again?

Glad to hear all is well in the end. Congratulations on the new job and baby soon to be.
You need to go out and get yourself one of those I-Phones so you can hide under the desk and hang out on CP still. :sign:

Well, the Halo isn't at my house, but the general gist of the statement is correct. I'm pretty booked up, as I have been man-whoring to make ends meet since this happened. I do have next Monday afternoon from 12:15-12;45, that's a $250 slot, though....lunchtime is big with the insurance exec types in hartford.
