Wireless Hygrometers

Funny you should start this thread, because I was just thinking the other day that I need to order three of these sensors. I don’t think I’ll need to go for the Wi-Fi Gateway, but I do like the idea of being able to monitor what’s going on with my aging coolidors without having to constantly open them up. I’m really OCD about it and probably go into them about 4-5 times a week. May even get one for my cabinet since my other digital hygrometers are so old.
 
I did see that one, and a Xikar thread as well.
I’m cheap, so I ordered one of the Boveda Smart Sensors last night.
The Wifi Gateway does seem like overkill, unless you’re traveling constantly.
 
I'm actually running some home automation with my sensors.

I'm using these:

I have them feeding data back to a raspberry pi running home assistant. If I have it enabled - there are fans that I can engage remotely to move humidity around and if temperature gets too high the winecooler kicks in for cooling needs.

even if I wasn't running automation - I really like these sensors and the data from their portal is pretty solid.

I'd really like these, though the numbers seem odd.

The item page has

RH sensor (+/-1% error)

and the comparison page has this:

+/-2% RH error


That's either a larger deviation (4% overall), or someone is not QC'ing the page - which is not good either.
If they slip up on that... :(

Still, I really do want this :D

How close are the numbers for you?

I am running the Boveda and have had really good luck so far. I am on my second set of batteries which is about 2/1 with my normal non wireless ones. It is always very close or exact with those also.

I've had my eye on these for a while now. Let me know how they're working for you
 
Yes, I use the SensorPush G1 WiFi Gateway and 5 sensors, and love it!! They are extremely accurate and I can check temp and humidity from anywhere in the world.
