One Leg Of Fury.
So, last week I had a vintage Hawaii Zippo show up in the mail. This week I get a torch insert. Hypothetically, I'm pretty sure I know they came from. Thank you, my friend!

Do they run out of fuel fast? I haven't been impressed with mine.Nice purchase! There are a lot of inserts out there and finally zippo came out with one.
The zippo insert is top notch - take a look at removing the bottom plate and re-adjusting the flame adjust wheel. From the factory they have this stop collar around it and max is actually about half way.
I think the Z-plus insert is probably the best next one - I have the double flame and its a bit different than the zippo double where they come to a nice point.
And then the vector thunderbirds are probably last - just too inconsistent on how they fit in different zippo cases.
They do run out pretty quickly. May get like 6 cigars out of it before it starts to sputter. The z-plus has a clear reservoir and it uses this sponge mechanism in the tank - the z-plus lasts around 10 cigars. There's just not a lot of room in that form factor for a lot of fuel.Do they run out of fuel fast? I haven't been impressed with mine.
If your not getting a spark trying moving the little igniter closer to the fuel spout thingy.I blamed mine on being too cold since I was using it while snowboarding, but just went and filled it up, purged, and still isn't wanting to light. Old fuel could be the problem too, or maybe just got a dud.
How has yours worked @kann ?
It sparks, just doesn't light most of the time. When it does, the jets don't burn the same and the putter out. Thinking more it's old fuel that is the problem, though it works fine in the Old Boy?If your not getting a spark trying moving the little igniter closer to the fuel spout thingy.
Hmm very odd
I know you said you purged it but that seems like air in the fuel, the way it’s sputtering.
That's what I was thinking too. I'll try purging it again when I get home.I know you said you purged it but that seems like air in the fuel, the way it’s sputtering.
Confession time: I had to buy a replacement torch insert, because stupid TSA took it from me on the return home from Hawaii last year.I blamed mine on being too cold since I was using it while snowboarding, but just went and filled it up, purged, and still isn't wanting to light. Tried another purge, no dice. Might try getting new butane, but probably just going to upgrade to a 2.0.
