Anyone tried this shiz (I'm sure Jonas has buried a few gallons already)? This stuff has to be potent. My mind is racing as to what this would be like. I would be it would be a top 5 brew for me.

My sister was looking into send growlers, etc. out and it just got way too expensive. I need to hit CO before it's gone.

Oooohhh man I gots to have some!! Somebody hook a brotha up!! :whistling:

Pretty sure it's only available at their tap room (Tasty Weasel). My brother has had it and said it's amazing. I'm guessing Jonas has had it too. Not sure if they do growlers of it or not, but would guess not.

Damn this sounds so delicious! I could only imagine Ten Fidy is already a big beer what this one would taste like .... mmmmm.

Oskar Blues bourbon barrel ages almost all of their beers but they're only available on draft at their pub. I saw a video of their brewery once with barrels labled with all their beers aging. I would love to try BA Old Chub as well as Ten Fidy!

Dang. This sounds good. I have been trying to find Anything by Ten Fidy for well over a year. I drop in every liquor store I pass.
I could have sworn I saw it once, but damned if I know where. This was before I read about it. Hate it when that happens.
I have two places that will happily special order for me. I'll report back with the outcome.

Oskar Blues is the name of the brewery Monk. Ten Fidy is just one of their brews like Gordon, and Gubna.

They sell growlers ($30 I believe). My sister figured $25 to ship due to weight, so I'd be in for $55 on a growler that very well may not make it through UPS.....

I'm sure Jonas has a pony keg he isn't telling anyone about.

Who's Jonas? :sign:

I've been thinking about a road trip this fall. You up for it Quade? We could crash at Casa de Burtch. I'm sure they won't mind if I set up the RV out front...

I've been pardoned for a long weekend in CO. I wasn't sure if I would do the GABF or sum huntin'?

I'll bring my disco ball for the RV...

What is a growler?

They sell 4 packs of Ten Fidy at the liquor store for $14.99 + tax. I am almost positive they carry the oskar blues bourbon barrel.

I wondered the same thing so Googled and found it's a half-gallon glass container, so if there's a "grouwler" of this Ten Fidy bourbon...boy would I like to get some! I get the Ten Fidy Imperial Stout here for $12.99 plus 8% tax. :D

OK, seems like they're a little misunderstanding here. Growlers are larger glass containers (think big grolsch bottle), usually in 1/2 gallon or sometimes smaller quart or 32oz which are reused. Breweries will have growler fill stations which are basically limited (or not) brews that they have on tap where they will fill your growler. It lets you basically take home some limited (or not) beer. They don't sell growlers with particular beers. Think of it as buying a thermous that you clean out and bring to the brewery or beer store and have it filled with your favorite concoction. Properly sealed (putting the cap on), your beer will be fine for a week and a half two weeks easily. They actually have 3 growler fill stations at the whole foods in Fair Lakes VA with 10 different beers at all times. Last time I was there they had the Oskar Blues Gubna. Sooo, I'm almost 100% sure that no one carries any of the bourbon barrel's outside of their brew pub. You would have to get it there either by glass (dont' even know if they do growlers) but they're definately not available in the can. TenFidy's around where ever they carry the oskar blues brand but they sell out pretty fast. They have em here in DC/VA in the 10.99-11.99 for the 4 pack

Saying "Breweries" have growler fill stations would not be 100% true. In TX it's illegal for a brewery to sell beer "to go" to customers. Distributors have jacked up the laws here with bureaucratic BS to keep their pockets full although I doubt they would hurt much from breweries selling beer to customers. The only place to get a growler in TX is at a brewpub that can legally fill them. Breweries can give away samples of their beer and most do "Tours" on the weekends or certain weekdays. Rahr in Fort Worth does Saturday tours and for $5 you buy the pint glass and get 3 beers "for free" but they're draft only and you have to drink it there during the 2 hours.

I can guarantee no one has cans of Bourbon Ten Fidy since they don't exist but apparently, from Beer Advocate reviews, you can get growlers. They seem pretty limited though. Personally I would pay the $55 for a growler and shipping to be able to try such a limited brew but that comes from the obsession of trading beer. BTW I would love to find Ten Fidy for $11-12 a 4pack...it went up to $15-16 for last year's release in most markets from what I have seen.

Edit: Oh and I can still get Ten Fidy at one of my local beer stores...I contribute this to the price increase and the fact that they have a ton of it.

I would love to be able to find Ten Fidy here period.

Hey G, I guess I was just going by my own experience with growlers. Both here in DC/VA and in Chicago, the breweries I went to, had a bar area and they did fill growlers (maybe thats what you mean by brewpub?). I'm assuming rules differ by state. Hey Eric, LMK if you can't find any of the ten fidy. I'll pick up a few for you next time I shoot up to LI. G1

Yeah but you get Schlafly, Goose Island, Founders, and Bell's. I'd love to have even their regular offerings like Bell's Two Hearted.

Brewpub was referring to a bar/restaurant that brews their own beer and serves food. There are lots of these places in Austin and they usually sell their brews as well as other beers in growlers. Dallas doesn't have any places like this which is pretty sad. Breweries that just brew beer (Shiner, Saint Arnold, etc.) cannot sell growlers or even bottles to the public in TX. There are so many state to state laws for alcohol it's ridiculous and the TX laws are so outdated.
