What Beer Did You Drink Today (2018)

This is what three 12 oz bottles of Weihenstephaner Braupakt gets you. If you must know, it bugs me to no end that the brewery logo doesn't match, but I don't have a Weihenstephaner mass.

The wife and I finally decided to go visit our local Peekskill brewery and we had a blast. It won't be our last visit.

We also had the Lower Standard IPA, Unique taste of millions and Top Rock Crush a Lot IPA but I didn't take pictures of those. We spent about 4 hours in there but then my wife decided that she wanted to go watch the sunset by the river which is literally a 2 minute walk away from the brewery. She also decided that it would be a good idea to purchase a 64oz growler and fill it up with the Five Tool Player Saison so that we can continue our drinking spreed by the river. She was way too "happy" by this point lol.

Some take home beers

Everyone is always chasing the hard to get NE beer, you know the list and I'm over here sipping some amazing NE beer (VT to be exact) that is found at my corner store.

What really separates some of these beers? I have been scratching my head more and more about the hype over some and the damn price tag. There are so many beers I'd take over a Heady it is crazy...

The NE craze has seriously exploded and you're right, Heady is great, but it's not the tits anymore. There are so many new breweries popping up and FOG breweries, adding juicy IPAs to their rotation.

Honestly, if I can't stumble into the nearest bottle shop and pick up a bottle or can of something, it might as well not even exist to me. There's more than enough good beer a stone's throw away from where I sit. I don't really understand the trading and chasing mentality, but whatever floats your boat, I suppose.

Can't agree more. I live 2hrs from alchemist and 40 minutes from trillium and have yet to visit either. I went to one bottle release at Main Beer Company for Dinner and I waited in line for 2hrs outside in November in Maine. I promised myself I would not go out of my way again or wait in line again for a beer after that cold day....

Cheers!
Paul

What is FOG brewery?

I used to do some chasin' of beers, but then Mississippi had some horrible alcohol laws and the south didn't have much in the way of good beer. The first Dark Lord day was also one of my first herfs with CP members. Also, both Dark Lord Day and Hunahpu were big parties with lots of other beers to sample. Now as I travel around, I try to drink the local beers. If I'm in an area with some of the chased beers, I give it a search.

I went through a phase of it for a while, but got to the point where I'd rather just drink what I could get locally and homebrew, then almost exclusively homebrew .
