Audew 300 Arrived

I haven't had a problem with mine. How many Boveda packs are you using and what size? I use more than recommended, always. I think I put at least six of the size 60 84rh packs in it, and within four or five days it was steady at 84-85. When my two drawers arrived, I swapped them in for the trays, didn't add any more packs, and left it for a week. Back to 84-85 and holding steady. I just got two more drawers last week, same routine, same result. All this has been over a period of several weeks btw, in my office in the suburbs of NYC. No problems at all. In fact it's ready to populate and I'll probably bring it home this weekend, move sticks into it, and take the little one back to the office to keep some there. Temps have also held steady just fine in the 68F range.
At 1st i had 4 84% 60grams but i changed it out for a 320g 72% after a week

Im having trouble seasoning my 300. Its been like a week and it wont reach the rh of the boveda, i wiped down the cedar trays with distilled water aswell. Anyone have any suggestions? Its killing me i cant use it yet
I too used the tray that came with the unit (Audew 150 cigar humidor). Filled the tray part way with distilled water, let it set in the humidor for a couple of days, and it was good to go. I left my unit turned on due the seasoning period BTY. I also wiped the shelves with distilled water, just to help things along. Because the interior of the humidor is mostly plastic, the wood shelves drew in moisture very quickly.

check the sealers around the door. Also, in the floor of the humidor, all the way back, there is a drain hole. Make sure this is closed. This maybe the cause of your HR not reaching full potential.

IMO, not enough Boveda, not enough time. I leave desktop humidors for at least 2-3 weeks with a couple of 84s in them. One of these TEC units needs much more. I would put the 84s back in, add a couple more, and leave it for at least 3 weeks. Don't swap them out until it stays constant at at least 80rh for at least a solid week. Hell I keep at least 8-10 Boveda 69s (60g) in my Audew 150. A few extra dollars and it holds a good rh just fine.

For sure, i figured since it didnt take long with the 150 its wouldn't take this long just to season it. Is there a drain hole on the 300 as well? I didnt see it

I recently bought the 150 cigar model Audew. What are you using to add humidity for daily use? I am using one of those tubes with humidity beads. It's OK. But, I need to add distilled water more often than I would like.

I use these in mine actually. I have the 300 model Audew so I use 2 of these. Basically what I do is completely soak on one distilled water for about an hour so it has time to absorb the water and the second one I just spritz lightly. I place the one that is soaked directly in front of the fan, and other one on the bottom. It holds really solid at 69%. Only add water about once every 3-4 weeks.

I do have about 50 of those small 69% boveda packs in there that come with cigars I’ve ordered online. I just toss them in there so they’ll be good when I ship cigars to others. I was putting them in Tupperware before but they kept drying out.

Where are the drain hole on the 150 and 300? Literally never saw anything about them when i did a shit ton of research before i got the 150 at the beginning of the year, and still cant find anything about them online. (Id look inside them rn but im at work)

Yeah they don’t list it anywhere in the user manual either. It’s something that all of these fridges have. I had to literally flip it over on its side and look at the bottom to find the one on mine.

Ohhh that makes sence , i was like i know i looked at every inch of it on the inside lol

So this is the bottom of the 300. It had the plastic plate and then you csn unscrew it and this small hole is there, but it doesn't even look like it goes into the inside. Thats the drain hole?20210703_122307.jpg20210703_122259.jpg

What did you cover it with?

Well, just a little update on the 300. It sat in my office seasoning for weeks (months actually). I added two drawers when they became available, liked them so added two more, let the drawers season, then brought it home today.

Moving smokes around from various ziplocs, desktop units and a wooden cabinet unit, I got the majority of my NC's in it. Some pics below. Pics are lousy but they hopefully show the capacity a bit. As I count, you can get 12-14 robustos (which is what I mostly smoke) side by side in each drawer, in two rows, and stacked three deep. So roughly 75 robustos per drawer. Five drawers, so 375. Plus I put a tray under the lowest drawer and have another 30 or so in there. Since they're not all robustos, I reckon I've got easily 300 cigars in the thing.

I'll keep a close eye on it to see how it holds rh and temp. Right now, it's battling miserable ambient conditions here, holding the temp low, rh a little high from the seasoning (which I figure is ok as there's a lot of smokes in there to absorb and stabilize).

I still have the Audew 150, which is now dedicated solely to CC's. And I still need a few desktops and acrylic jars for overflow, and for a drybox. Sheesh, if this keeps up I'll need a walk-in.

You should have gone bigger! You’ll see.. 😂
This place is dangerous..

I didn’t season with the Boveda packs. I used the tray that’s included filled with distilled water. Only after it reached about 74-75% RH I then removed the tray and replaced it with some boxes and added my boveda.
Right answer. Add a new synthetic sponge to increase evaporation and you should be golden. Don't cover the sponge with water. I've done this before and you'll have things where you need in a few days. Save the Bovidas.

Yeah i took em out and and just put the distilled water in and its fine now, steadily going up

I have the 150 aswell. I just use bovedas tho. Iv never tried the tube you have there but if yor constantly having to add water you might wanna try beads or bovedas
What RH and how many Bovedas do you use for your 150 Audew? I may need to either add some Bovedas to my cooler as well.
