Weather outage, or what's the deal? Hope it comes back on soon!
Yup, as @{tpc} mentioned a bad weather system cam through the lower palm, an last I checked 614,000 people were without power.
Been there a few times myself. Glad to hear everyone is making the best of it and hope you get power back soon.
The good news is that we got a reinstated time now. Could have power back by midnight tonight!

That's excellent news! Last year when Delta hit here I was steady checking out the power outage map. Thankfully it was October when it hit and the weather wasn't too hot.

The Residents 2021 North American Tour has been cancelled :(
I purchased tickets in January, 2020, for the April, 2020 show. That show was rescheduled for August 26, 2021, because of the COVID pandemic.
This morning, I received an email from the event staff that I have been refunded for the three tickets I purchased for myself & a couple of friends.

In a not so cryptic message on The Residents web site NEWS section, on Friday, August 13, 2021, The Residents announced, "Disappointment is real. And the Covid pandemic ravaging our culture is real. The Residents are real, too, in a misty, man-behind-the-curtain way. And the joy that an artist or musician brings to their supporters is also real, but so is the apprehension one feels when that excitement is replaced by anxiety and dread. Disappointment is a bitter pill and The Residents share in the sorrow that goes with the acrid gulp, but artists have resources to deal with frustration and failure - THEY CREATE!!!
And WE are creating... please stay tuned. As someone who lives in a land not far from The Residents' fog-shrouded castle on a hill once said, "Tomorrow is another day!"
Thanks for your love and support... and GET VACCINATED!!!"

On The Residents tour page it states, "Yes, it's true. Upcoming North American shows are being cancelled. As cancellations are confirmed, they will be removed from this page. Many venues/ticket outlets are sending out email messages and automatically issuing refunds to ticket holders, but some may require you to initiate the refund process. Contact your local venue or your ticket seller if you have more questions.
As of now, the California dates at the end of the scheduled tour are still happening. Stay safe, everyone."

Glad I saw The Residents on their 2018 tour here in the Twin Cities but the odds of ever again seeing them perform live is now very low. 😞

My proposal at work was shot down with a resounding no. What it was, you may ask.

It was for a sigh that would have stated "The counter top is not a drum. No need to beat an off rhythm cadence on it."

Wife and myself have been a little achy the last couple days, we just brushed it off as jet lag after flying from TX to FL, FL to TX, TX to CA and back within two weeks. But last night she got a little worse and ran a fever, so doing what’s right we got tested for COVID this afternoon and she tested positive, of course me being the superior being that I am tested negative. So we both retested and same results. So quarantine it is for us for at least 10 days. 😞 But on a positive note I feel completely fine as of today and Ashley’s fever broke last night and she is feeling much better today as well…

@TexasTraveler get some rest and hoping you guys kick this damn Covid in the butt in no time 👍
I still have zero symptoms but wife is a little worse this morning… Called the Dr for her this morning and they are going to get her started on some meds first thing tomorrow… I was kidding with her this morning and told her that Bourbon and Cigars must be the cure and I am going to live forever, 😂 but seriously I guess I will just have to wait and see if I get sick from it?

Sorry to hear that your wife is feeling worse today -- I hope that they get it cleared up quickly. I definitely agree that cigars are a proactive approach to the 'Rona. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Best of luck, brother.

Ugggghhhh... Parenting. It is the best of times. It is the worst of times.
Soon after we had our first child I can remember my grandfather saying something like “ when their little you‘ll have little problem and as they get bigger you’ll have bigger problem”. My grandsons almost three and I hope I see the day when I can bestow the same wisdom him.
