Unhappy Thread

My wife informed me last night that everything in the freezer section of our kitchen refrigerator was thawing out. I took the panels off, vacuumed all the crud off the coils, made sure the compressor was running, and checked it this morning. Everything was more thawed. Stuck one of the Govees from a humidor in the fridge, got myself all cleaned up, and checked the temp: 56.1. Moved everything into the basement fridge and freezer, unplugged the upstairs one, and called the appliance folks. They'll try to get to it today, but it may be Monday.
That sucks! watch for water under the fridge as the frost melts in the freezer. No need to make a bad deal worse.

You ever do something that you know could turn out bad, but you keep going?

I'm making a box joint jig, for my table saw and the dado is a little tight to slide a piece in. So I was using some sharp ass chisels to try and clean up the edges/shave a little bit off so the piece could fit in the dado slot. As I was holding the piece down on my table saw with my left hand and working the chisel towards my left hand, with my right, I thought to myself. "Self, if this chisel somehow comes out of this dado joint, it's going to be bad for that left pointer finger."

Sure as shit, the chisel hopped out of the dado slot and into my left finger, leaving a chisel width cut/slice in my finger. Blood everywhere, had to grab the roll of shop towels to stop the bleeding. Finally stop the bleeding, come inside and look for bandaids. Had to use part of a shop towel and shipping tape, to drive to friggin' Walgreens to get bandaids.

This crap happens to me so much anymore that I take extra caution when doing anything with or near anything sharp. Guess what, doesn’t matter, I still cut myself anyway.

We had to put Addison (named for Wrigley Field where he first lived nearby), our family cat, down today. He was 21. He had a massive seizure and things went south from there.

The kids are pretty upset to say the least. He was my wife's cat and became my first and likely only cat when we met. He was more dog than cat, he even played fetch when he was young.

I ended up being the only one he really liked, which was funny because I'm a dog person and don't really care for cats. Nonetheless since Covid he has spent everyday with me lounging in my office and I grew to appreciate him.

Very sorry for your loss. that is never easy.

My condolences. We have a cat that looks very similar to yours. I was never a cat person either until our daughter begged for one and we got two kittens in 2017. Now they’re part of the family.

Note from my Oral Surgeon:
No Smoking: Smoking can complicate your healing process and could lead to bone graft failure. It is preferred that you do not smoke throughout your healing process.

When I read this, all I can think is that I need a different oral surgeon.

So I scored a sweet deal on a S&W 442.....$530...the fancy engraved one.
Ordered on March 14th
Stupid Palmetto didnt ship it for over a week and because of work travel, the states stupid 1 wk waiting period, and my dealers hours, I didnt pick it up until April 5th which was at a show I had to pay admission to get in....long story
Bring it home and the F'ing ejector rod is bent!🤬
Brand new and bent.
Travel another week for work.
Come back and reach out to CS and with all the BS involved with shipping these things they recommended having my dealer do it. They will send a shipping label he just needs to call them.
Drive all the way back to my dealer and drop it off on April 16th.
I hear crickets. Call S&W yesterday and they say its not in their system and hasnt been sent back.
Email my dealer and he said he forgot about it and will get right on it.

GD its been almost two months since I ordered it and I still dont have it in my grubby mitts.
