Unhappy Thread

This isn't an equal and opposite reaction.
I swear it is exponentially cumulative. Like how decibels increase in power. The equivalent of one person clapping in a stadium is consumed, but a Superbowl touchdown with fireworks comes out.

Kids have been out of school since Monday and I'm guessing they'll be out tomorrow as well.............maybe Friday, who the hell knows. I can usually handle a few days of this, but not this week.

"I'm bored"
"Can we go do something"
"Why won't you let me drive in this snow/ice"
"We have nothing to eat"

Between the dogs wanting to go out every f'ing hour and chew on icicles or playing the game of finding frozen turds, so they can bring them back into the house................and the attention span of a gnat, always stimulated kids, I don't want any part any longer.

Being bored was just part of growing up. If it was a snow day or even summer break, you had to find stuff to do on your own. Hell, we were left at home ALL day, without supervision, while my mom worked. It's one of the reasons I became a Cubs fan. They showed their games on WGN during the summer.

Man this was a bitch today. Snowed until 9 am yesterday and had like 6 inches then switched to sleet and it rained dippin dots until about 7 last night. Hard hard stuff. God bless John Deere.

In case anyone asks the Webber grill marked a spot in the drive.

Can't equal those numbers, but our city has no equipment and our complex has folks that don't know how to shovel. Took four days for me to get out. All of this is ice.

I received a check via certified mail with a return receipt yesterday. I signed the receipt and handed it back to the clerk, took my check and left.

When we got the mail today, the return receipt was in my PO box, instead of going back to the sender.

My confidence in the USPS is slipping from it's already rather modest level.

Back at what seems to be my favorite thread.

Traveling for work. Looked up a lounge nearby and packed my cutter and lighter. Looked all over the website to see what they wanted to use the lounge...cut fee or purchase etc. and couldn't find any info.

Drove there yesterday and walked in and asked and the guy said min $30 purchase to use the lounge. Wtf. Its in a STRIP MALL! Walked out and didn't buy anything. The place 5 min from the house just wants you to buy the stick from them which I completely understand and when I asked the manager about bringing my own and a cut fee he said "we could work something out". The ashton bar in downtown philly doesn't even require that, but I buy booze.

Oh well. I will probably be here in April and the hotel I stay at has a nice outdoor gazebo type area and I will just bring my own and save the drama and gas....

Last night I was washing and drying a kitchen knife and fumbled it. Bad instinct and fast reactions, I tried to catch it. Oh yeah I caught it, with my little finger and nearly took it off. You can see my wrapped up finger in today's smoke. I'm kinda depressed now, it's hard to do a lot of things without the full use of all your digits!

We lost our mommy dog, Chica, this morning about 0415. Her little kidneys gave out, and while she fought hard, she finally lost the fight. The vet gave us a couple weeks, she hung in there with love and care for almost nine good and happy months.

She came to us at about four months old, in early August, 2012. The following year she gave us the gift of five wonderful, healthy puppies and our lives changed completely. We loved 'the herd' so much, it was the best of times. Five little terrors on the loose, with momma dog chasing and guiding. She was always intensely protective of us, her babies, and her home. In better times she was ALWAYS the first dog out the door in the morning, running across the yard as fast as she could, barking as hard as she could. Clearing the yard, making sure it was safe for us all. In her last days, she'd walk the yard, sniffing and checking, making sure all was as it should be. One of the finest dogs I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. While not unexpected, it hits hard. Wow, I miss her.....

Not hard to come up with the best of memories for our dear Chica, as there were a million. She was the best. Run free and happy, little momma....you are so missed.
