BBQ Herf **edited for details.***

Hey Dennis,

can I get my 40' motor home down to the river. :0
I'll be in Wyoming early August, what's a few thousand miles between friends. :)

Brian

Brian,
I am not sure if we can get it back up. If not we can park it at the top of the hill. I will let you decide after you look at it.

Looks like I am going to have to borrow the neighbors back yard too. :whistling:

It's one powerful engine, provided there is grip, no problem. I tow 11,000 Lbs
behind me and don't know it's there :) On top is good though. I'm self sufficient for about a week.

Brian

Here are some pics I took of Dennis' back yard last Thanksgiving. You can get an idea of the space available, as well as the slope down to the river. As you can see, the area immediately next to the river is flat.

Hope these help!

Yes, thanks! - I can get down there no problem - assuming I have the space
to pass the house??? Now - to do or not to do???
SHAWk...and what does this have to do with the thread? ;)

Alex, - what thread ;)

OK - That BRAIN was deliberate, thanks for the confidence boost
No blank band moochers in my rig - sorry! :whistling:

That last photo is only half way down the hill.

The photo from the deck is looking at half my property half the neighbors. I also own the lot to the right of the photo.

If you look at the photo of the house I own to the left. So there are no houses on the left side. Plenty of room to get down there.

Hope that helps. Those are not the best photos but gives you guys an idea.

No flaming of my photos, ya bastage! Post your own if you can! :p

I still want to know if it's okay to bring a camper. I have absolutely no interest in sleeping in a tent. Are campers going to be allowed here? I also want to know if Josh, Gary and Rob are interested in this. If so, fine, I can borrow a larger pop-up camper from my friend Chris that'll sleep up to four comfortably. If they're not, then that's fine too, I'll borrow a teardrop camper.

I actually came across some plans to build one out of wood which I thought was pretty cool. The problem with teardrop campers is that they're really only good for one person. If I do borrow a teardrop style camper and it works out okay, I just may build one out of wood per the plans during the winter, it'll give me something to do in the off season.

hatguy, do you have WiFi? If so, fantastic, I can sit in my little teardrop camper and log onto CP and give live updates as to the shananigans that I know will be going on during this "event."

A wooden camper would be sweet. Just keep it away from the fire!
I can see it now, I'll be passed out in the wooden camper and you guys will roll it into the bonfire.

"It's now 11:45 p.m., shawk just took everyone's money in a poker game and alex and hale are collecting empty bottles for gas money for the drive back to Illinois"

"12:00 midnight, shawk has set up "Shawk's Loan Company, Inc." and is letting people borrow money to pay for gas. Terms are 15% per day."

"12:30 a.m. I think I just heard alex slip off a keg trying to do a keg stand. He won't be able to drive since I think he broke his arm."

"1:15 a.m. My camper is getting awfully warm. Is something burning.........?"

Line goes dead...........

If you can borrow, build, or have the mother ship beam a camper over, and you've made your decision to go, I'll reconsider going myself. I'd very much like to meet you. I can also say from observation that the classic teardrop does fit two comfortably, but I doubt they slept much. ;)

Personally, I'll take the motel.

If anyone would like a little cajun to go with the BBQ I can cook up a few hundred crawfish with some good seasonings. If there is enough interest in this I can bring along my cooker.

Hey guys,I might be able to make this one, won't know until last minute though.Depends on how busy I am at the shop.

I will probably want to crash on the ground or in a tent, depending on alcohol intake.
Bill,I think you should build the camper and bring it to the herf so we can see your craftsmanship.I am always amazed by other peoples work on projects such as that.

Looks like after all the hype, I won't be able to make it due to personal issues. I'm quite angry now, so I'll stop typing!

CC,
Sure you can bring a camper, just don't want to bring a big one. Pop-up will be fine. And yes I have WiFi not sure if it will reach down at the river but it should. Never had a use for a computer at the river.

Damm it Jimmy, I was counting on you. Hell even Shooter said he was tring to make it. I will even let you speed herf with a VSG. :sign:

The wife wants to know if you have any berries in those woods? :whistling:
My wife has a Strawberry patch in the back yard. But by Aug. they will be gone. She is more than welcome to grab a boat and run over to the other side to go "in search of" her berries. Nothing on the other side but woods.

I'm out for the trip. The only weekend I have to work in August! Sounds like great time!

We're (the fam) is supposedly going out of town with the inlaws that weekend. Sounds like fun. Well, now I'm bummed out...sorry Hawk! I'll make it up to you! :D

I actually had to cancel some plans that I've had for almost a year now because I was being tarded. The weekend of the herf is the same weekend of the AMA Superbike races at VIR that we go and camp out at. Oh well. OOpps.
