Since moving out to the desert of Sin, I've long for my favorite donuts. DUNKIN' DONUTS!!!! These are no where to be found in Sin City. There use to be one located in a casino, but no more.

If you had started this poll a week ago, I coulda sent you some in the HPB.
I agree with you though. Their coffee is great too. When I do have a donut, can't do KK. Tried them once, and they were good for the novelty, but that's it. I'd be better off deep frying a 5lb bag of sugar. Come out this way for a game, and we'll go grab some.

I'm partial to the Dunkin Donuts style of doughnuts. The Bavarian Cream is my favorite.

Wilkey

There’s actually a local truck stop that makes there own donuts, they have chocolate éclairs the size of dinner plates, the gal’s usually eat a 1/4th because it fills them up.

Here in Central Texas it's Round Rock Donuts or nothing!

Yep, them yellow doughnuts! Awesome traditional glazed doughtnut.

For a fancy doughnut, the Tres Leches from the Doughnut Plant!

If I can only pick one for the rest of my life then it's beignets!

We do not have a Dunkin in Salt Lake. I used to love Winchell's as a kid, but I have not seen a Winchell's open around here for at least 15 friggin' years. My favorite local would be the blueberry donut from Banbury Cross. Good stuff!

Around here that resurgance of the Krispy Kreme and their worthless sugar snacks has all but wiped out Dunkin, Luckily there are a few around if the need really strikes me.

I gotta stick by Krispy Kreme.

My Mom is a "Department Head" fancy word for a lady who doesn't do anything, for a Wal-Mart Bakery, and then they first opened her store, they had to test all the machines out, so for a month I got free donuts, and other pasteries. Now, I wouldn't eat stuff made there if my life depended on it.

  True, but I'd rather be sitting at Shea watching a game AND having a DD. Oh, yeah, the coffee is good too. My future FIL goes to New York about 3 times a year and brings back DD bean coffee...

Double choclate at Dunkin Donuts is my favorite, but only about twice a year, otherwise i'd have to roll instead of walk.

Tim Horton's -- great hockey player, great donuts.

Krispy Kreme tried to come into our area a few years back with huge publicity and they opened a bunch of stores. They got rocked by the loyal Tim Horton eating Canadians. Now Krispy has closed a bunch of stores and are trying to regroup while Timmy's keeps expanding.

Beyond that, I have extremely fond memories of walking/staggering through Jackson Square, early morn, late, late night, hitting Decatur, piping hot beignets, powdered sugar everywhere, coffee w/ chicory...sobering up/knocking out a pounding headache looking at Saint Louis....mmmm...Cafe du Monde.

You were there too??? LMAO!!!!! I LOVE Cafe du Monde....... I also love an egg breakfast at the little diner to the downtown caddy-corner from Cafe du monde.....

I'm a Cafe du Monde freak, big ole clumps of dough with powered sugar and their coffee is spot on. DD makes a pretty good doughnut, I'll leave the best doughnuts for my law enforcement friends.

Yes, Cafe du Monde is awesome. They have one in the French Quarters in New Orleans. Everytime we visit my grandparents in Louisianna we go there. I didn't know there were other locations though.

I understand that most have not tried DD or KK's before, but trust me, if you ever have the opportunity to have a DD, you'll know what I mean. Krispy Kremes are like eating warm air.

I find it odd that our contingent of former and present LEO's have been silent on the subject. :whistling:

Doc.

For the longest time Milwaukee didn't have a Krispy Cream... well, when they finally came, I was very dissapointed. What's the big deal?

I'll take a real bakery anyday. For those near Milwaukee, my fav is House of Cakes in Menomonee Falls. It's about a 35 mile round trip, but well worth it.

Anyone ever been to the Donut Hole in Destin FL? We go there on vacation and usually hit them up once or twice while we are there.
