Greetings From Oliva -- Oliva Connecticut update inside!

Hilarious!! a guy with 20 post welcoming a member with over 500. :sign:

Ian, def keep us posted on those Maduro's.

Welcome, from one of Oliva's biggest fans.

What is with the production of the Vs? Seriously, I alone have about 30 people on backorder for these and production has been a constant issue. Then you guys release a Nub when the Vs are so highly sought after? I don't get it. You have one of the most popular cigars to hit the market in the last few years and they're impossible to get. Is it intentional? All I hear from my customers is how great this cigar is and how they can't get enough. I have customers that have been on backorder for 7-8 weeks now these guys are off making other stuff like the Nub? I could literally sell 20 boxes of these a day if I had the supply...

So what's the deal?

So what's the deal?

The Nub project was underway during the time Serie V was released. The rollers for the Serie V are a separate group from all of the other Oliva premium lines and are specially trained and salaried. The two brands do not compete with each other for production.

Cigar makers believe they have a great product when they decide to release a cigar (or at least you would expect they do). To what extent will the cigar smoking community receive it? They will know soon enough. Part of the success of the Oliva Serie V is the attention to detail and of course quality control. While production has increased since the launch at the trade show last year, demand continues to grow at an outrageous rate. I may be the single biggest fan of increasing production in the factory (as sales manager), but no Oliva family member will allow an increase that would compromise quality. It's an argument that I will never win, and I shouldnt.

Believe me when I tell you that Serie V backorders are not intentional. We are constantly addressing increased production, but it takes time when it's done the right way.

I hope I have answered your question.

I am glad that you and your customers enjoy the Serie V so much, and I hope we can bring you many more soon.

I heard from my local B&M that the V is going to be coming out in celo wrapper in the near future, is there any truth to that? I am asking because he also said (and I don't know how true this is) but that celo wrappers change the taste of the cigar.

The V's being shipped from this point on will be cello'ed. However to say that they change the taste of the cigar is not accurate. The cello is to prevent damage during shipping and during handling by customers on a day to day basis at the B&M's.

Was that local Jack? If it is, I will have to talk to him :whistling:

Yeah it was Jack. He was also pretty pissed at his Oliva Rep for not letting him know that the nubs were coming out when they did, He said that the only way he heard about the nubs was from customers asking for them.

I'd be pissed too, if I had to find out a release from customers instead of from the rep.

He is losing it, I was talking to him about NUBs before the herf, and I guess he wasn't paying attention. Weeks later he was telling me about this new cigar that the Rep. never told him about and I was like "Jack, I was telling you about that cigar weeks ago" and he was like "ohh" lol.

He never knew about the LFD Cameroon Lancero either until we told him.

Cello does not change the taste of a cigar.

Good ole Jack

Will the the Figurados be celloed also?

Had my first V Figurado couple days ago. Yes, it was celloed.
It had such a buttery flavor, I contemplated eating it.

Very nice
