BOTL's in Arms Pass

PM confirmed! I'll be keepin' an eye out this coming week.

Is it odd that i have no desire whatsoever to own an AR pr any variant? Maybe It's because I've never shot one, hmm...

I don't think it's odd. In fact I used to be of the same mindset. I think I maybe want one now because there is such a vocal minority that says I or anybody shouldn't! :whistling:

Go ahead and get one...You may not have a chance much longer. Just be prepared to pay out the nose. I have a Bushmaster M4A3 that's really fun to shoot.

Thanks everyone for all the good thoughts and prayers. Sadly, my father pased away early Tuesday morning. It was not unexpected since he was 91 and going down hill for some time now. Still, it is a shock when it finally happens.

The next few months will be difficult but things will get back to normal. Hope to join and participate in some of the future passes when they do.

Thanks again.

Dave

Couldn't stand it anyl onger so I took the new XD out in the snow and let loose a few rounds.

Very nice shooting weapon! The ease of field stripping is off the chart. My 1911 is a pain in the ass to field strip compared to the XD.

I highly recomend this pistol for anyone who is in the market.

Rock River AR-15. :D

Congrats on picking up a fine piece of American made hardware. however, my question is why the choice of a Rock River?

Fellas, I picked up my new toy today. I was going to get a Remington 700 PSS, but that fell through. Remington discontued production of this model and prices have gotten ridiculous. I bought a Remington 700 SPS varmint .308 (link at bottom of post). The only difference in this and the PSS is the HS Precision stock, which I will soon be ordering for this rifle. It is cheaper to get the SPS Varmint and by the HS stock then to buy a PSS right now due to the price increase. But you get the same thing either way. funny how those things work sometimes. I am going to be purchasing a Harris Bipod, Leupold Mark IV 4.5-14X40, and high quality rings and base as well. The Leupold will be replaced by a Schmidt and Bender Police Series 5.5-25X54 once I get the money together for it. I will be getting a gunsmith to true the bolt and shorten the throat length as well. Once it is all said and done this should be a nice 800 yard tack driver.

Nice weapon! I was just reading about that firearm not 30 seconds ago. I was at the site reading about tactical shotguns and was interested in this one. Nice pick up!

On another note the pass is ready to fly it goes out Monday. Thanks for letting me on board.

Why a Rock River?

Well, by most of what I have read and researched, they are considered one of the best made AR's available. Do you have feelings for or against Rocker River made AR's? I welcome all feedback.

So assuming a lot of gun nuts are survivalists i come to you guys with a question. I am putting together a B.O.B. I have the general idea and all the main stuff like food water clothes shelter etc etc etc, but what tips or special tricks do you guys have in your bag. I ordered a bunch of 550 for it, I actually keep about 1000' around the house at all times cuz the stuff has 8000 purposes. But what tricks do you have up your sleeve in yours.

Don't have any personal feelings for or against a RRA's product that I can base on a hands on experience, I was only asking why you would choose to buy one of their products over any of the other fine weapons available to Mr.Consumer? I own a S&W M&P15 and have been more than happy with it from day one. I am some what embarrassed to tell people what I payed for t these days as the prices have gone through the ceiling. If I was in the market today for a gas gun I would probably stick with the S&W but that is only because of a personal hands on experience that has been nothing but positive. The dilemma today for me would be to buy a gas gun or a piston gun. Faced with that decision I think I believe that my next AR style weapon will definitely be a piston driven weapon. Clean and reliable. Probably go with the Barrett but once again, personal choice. WAY to much to choose from my friend. Damn I love living in America!
