Been busy but on Saturday, I hosted a birthday party for a friend who turned 80. My gift to him was a bottle of
Lagavulin Single Malt.

My friend was campaigning for a well-aged bottle of Bowmore but I chose instead to choose the Lagvulin it because it was valued at a dollar a year of his life. Also because of the extraordinary comments and reviews and finally, simply because I had never tried it and I knew he would feel obligated to share a bit of it with me.


When he offered me a glass, I moved outside and lit up an AF King Bee and later a Hemingway Best seller. I have to say the combination was exquisite and that I may have found my favorite single malt of all time.
