Did anyone notice that that copied PM was the only coherent thing he typed? Punctuation and grammar were considerably better than his posts to the thread. Very interesting...
This thread was a good read though, haha.
I removed the water last night, recharged the humidifier (not sure I had to - the foam was dry but I could tell some of the crystals were clear) and let it sit over night. This morning, it read 74% so I just added all the cigars and didn't touch the humidifier. Hopefully it will level off in...
The humidifier is already in there (the puck) and has been since I started seasoning. Does this change anything, or do I just leave it in and add cigars (and remove the container of water)?
I really just started smoking cigars 6 months ago, but I like it alot and have been dying to try a cuban. I have to know what all the fuss is about! I don't know how much we are allowed to say or not say about this on the forum, so feel free to PM me if you think you can help.
I've compiled a...
The process I used was to damp all the wood with distilled water, add the 70% RH humidipuck, and add a small open container of distilled water. I didn't know I shouldn't have added the puck.
I have no reason to believe the 77% is not accurate. I guess I'll remove the vat tonight, recharge the...
Almost 24 hours later and I only opened it for 1 second to drop in the digital hygrometer.
Since about an hour after I dropped it in, it has been reading 75-77% humidity. It started at 75% and then hit 76% and now has hit 77%.
Is it time to take the vat of water out? I'm not really sure when...
Does the digital need to be calibrated or are they typically very accurate? It is the cheaper of the two offered at cigarmony.com, the western digital...
I just received my glass top humidor from cuban crafters and I'm trying to season it. When I opened it, the built in hygrometer says 80%. There is no way that it is 80% in my house? I just put the humidipuck in after following the instructions for it, so I'm hoping the gauge will come down...
Thanks for the replies guys. I do like the lighter cigars so far, but then again, that is really all I have tried. I think a few of my next ones will be some darker ones. Maybe the CAO brazilian and I will definitely try the others mentioned above.
Thanks!
I'm very new at smoking cigars - about 6 months now. I've probably tried about 20-25 different ones (some of those were repeats).
The ones I have tried that I can remember are, in no particular order (and none of these are cubans), Montecristo #2, Montecristo White label (I think that is what...
Where can I get distilled water? My only guess is a drug store like CVS?
Are there certain types of it that are different? If so, which do I want/need?
Orders placed for everything! I'm so excited, thanks again for all your help.
Yeah, Mark, I meant stack like add together to cover larger areas, I didn't intend to use them on top of each other ;)
I was asking about the recovering lost cigars because I have a couple now that have been in a...
Thanks for the info guys!
Do the pucks stack? i.e. if I have a 1500cu in humidor, I could use a small and a large, and likewise a 2000 uses two tall? I won't need to do this yet, just curious for the future!
Also, maybe a dumb question, but can damage cigars (dried out) be saved by keeping...
I have been thinking alot about the size of the humi. Everyone I talk to says I need bigger, and they are probably right. I'm already looking at prices of boxes... and I will need somewhere to keep them. I just stumbled upon what looks to be a great deal at cubancrafters for a glass top humi...
I heard about the tupador, but I'm looking for something a bit more presentable that will fit the room (I think it is about all the girlfriend will allow for now ;)). I really don't think I'll up my collection more than 25-30 at any given time. I hear that everyone says that, and it's probably...
Hey everyone, I just joined here because it seemed like a great forum and I'm in need of a humidor.
To give a little background... I just starting smoking cigars about 6 months ago and so far I really like it alot. I've been smoking 3 or 4 a month, roughly, and I have been starting to buy a...
