    PG (Paul Garmirian) Robustos

I picked up a 10 pack and 2 singles of the PG robusto a couple of weeks ago in NYC. For $11.50 per stick retail (I got a 2 for 2 deal) they are a terrible value IMO (my actual cigars anyways). I am hoping I just got a bad batch, but of the 3 I have smoked, they were underfilled, harsh, burned...

    Today's Smoke

A few golfing yesterday..... Cuban MC Petit Edmundo Tubo - I love this cigar. Menium bodied, tons of flavour and the construction seems to always be flawless. Alas, I am down to my last 2. Avo Piramides - This was purchased 11 or 12 years ago so nicely aged. It started out very bland and had...

Madelaine Humidification Stuff - Deal of the Year!

I think I will go back tomorrow and buy all of the $5.00 Cuban RyJ Coronita en Cedres (5.25 x 40) they have. These are usually in the $10 range or so and are a good little smoke. I have bought almost 10 BOXES of cigars in the last month (just started smoking cigars again recently)... but who...

Madelaine Humidification Stuff - Deal of the Year!

So I go to my local grocery store tonight to pick up food for dinner and they have a little smoke shop attached. They sell a few cigars and have a cigar accessory section. I decided to take a look around and noticed a sign that said "select cigar accessories - 90% off". A couple of cheap items...

    Today's Smoke

2 tonight.... 1. Paul Garmirian "Gourmet Series" Robusto - Maybe the WORST cigar I have ever smoked. Worse than fake $30 a box Cohibas, worse than White Owl...... terrible! As soon as I picked it up I knew it would be a bad smoke. It weighed almost nothing. It was underfilled, burned hot and...

Confessions of a Cuban Cigar Smoker in NYC

Thanks for the advice! I noticed that they Padrons I bought were $73 or so plus tax which is about $80 in NYC. These cigars can be bought elsewhere for $59.95. Not a huge difference but it will be if I buy boxes that are $200+. Thanks!

Confessions of a Cuban Cigar Smoker in NYC

I just smoked one of the Padron Londres Naturals (vacation day tomorrow!) and it was excellect. Maybe a bit lighter than the Maduro Londres, but a great $3.00 smoke. Actually, it might not be a Cuban MC #4, but the quality difference is not enough to justify the #4 being 6x the price (in...

Is the new Magnum 50 as good as the old Magnum 50 LE 2005?

I smoked a Magnum 50 right out of the box and it was amazing. One of the best Cubans I have ever smoked. Having said that, I have not had a 05 LE.

Confessions of a Cuban Cigar Smoker in NYC

As a follow up, I just smoked another NUB and it wasn't nearly as good as the first. It had a bit of a burn issue and seemed a bit bland. It also smoked in less than an hour (about 50 min). I am used to some construction variation with Cubans over the years, I am still excited about smoking...

Confessions of a Cuban Cigar Smoker in NYC

I live in Canada and have access to cigars directly from Cuba thru my family vacations and friends travelling so I tend to smoke mainly Cuban cigars. I smoke the odd Avo, Davidoff or Fuente Hemingway when I travel to the US, but when I go to the humidor, it is usually for a Monte #2 or @4...

    Uh oh...

And I though being involved in a direct hit last week when I was in Cuba by hurricaine Fay was bad. This one was brutal!

machine mades, good value or why bother?

I smoked a Guantanamero last night and it was just OK. RyJ and Punch Tubos that are machine made are the best IMO.

    Wineador, extra large please

+1. I have a 500 bottle wine fridge (for wine, guys.. not cigars! :p ) and it was under $2k. $28k for 1500 bottle capacity is insanely expensive.

    Whats Your Latest Puchase

Yes I am. As long as you can help me pay the mortgage payment as cigars have been preventing this.

    Davidoff Culebra Special C

Thanks for posting this! I found a 10+ year old Special "C" in my humidor last week and I am planning to smoke it soon. My "c" looks a lot smaller than the one in your pics. Maybe a 32-36 gauge at the most. I will post some pics when I smoke it.

    Mojito Recipes

+1. After a week of drinking this great drink in Cuba, I figured I would try to duplicate the recipe. It turned our perfect IMO. :D Here is what I used..... 1 ounce simple syrup 2 stems of fresh mint 1 1/2 ounces Havana Club Blanco Rum Juice of 1 lime 1 dash Angostora Bitters...

    H. Upmann #2 - Habana

I forgot to add that these cigars were made in Nov 06.

    New cubans in town

The Upmann Magnum 50 I smoked 3 weeks ago is one of the best cigars I have ever smoked. It was amazing right out of the box. It was one of the last ones this store had as apparently Alec Baldwin loves these things and cleaned them out. :p At $25 or so Canadian a stick, I rarely buy more than...

    H. Upmann #2 - Habana

Picked up a box of Upman #2's at the Partagas Factory in Havana for about $7.50USD per stick or $185USD for the box. I couldn't resist cracking the box while in Cuba as I am a huge Montecristo #2 fan (they were sold out almost everywhere in Cuba last week) and wanted to see how the Upmann #2...

    Hoyo De Monterrey, Habana

I just returned from Cuba this weekend with a box of these and they are great. I smoked 2 from the box and both were amazing (great taste, draw, burn, etc.). I also bought 3 or 4 from various shops and they too were great smokes. Too bad about your plugged #2! :( I had a Ramon Allones Gigantes...
