We will operate this as it was in 2022 but with a slight twist; This years Entry fee is a 5er (NC or CC) with a minimum $50 value; this should really be a min. of $8 per stick, if you don't understand this, ask a question!!!

Last few World Cups have been 8 groups of 4 teams, with the top two from each group going to bracket play. You are assigned a group and if one of your two teams that makes it to bracket play wins, well then you win...you had two chances to win and basically had a chance to win first and second. BBBBUUUUTTTTTT This year there are 12 groups, with the top two advancing and then the top 8 third place teams also advance to the knockout stage (I imagine there is going to be some drama over this, but probably not since the soccer world is known for fair play). So 8 of us will have 3 teams advance. I feel like this might be a shit show.

1st / 2nd / 3rd place will be paid out (30 cigars to 1st, 20 cigars to 2nd, 10 cigars to 3rd with each person keeping their own 5er).

We need 12 players; Once all 12 spots are claimed, I will randomly assign players to a group. The champion from the last world cup contest gets an automatic reservation unless they don't want it...

For those following #14 USA, per The Athletic, after yesterday's results the US has a 99% chance of playing 62nd ranked Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32. #23Austria and #19 Senegal make up the other 1%. And in more good news for the USMNT, their likely round of 16 opponent is either a 3rd place team or the winner of Group G. #11 Belgium is the only Group G team ranked higher than USA, and they must win and get some help to win the group. If #26 Egypt beats #21 Iran, then USA will likely face Egypt or a 3rd place team in the round of 16.

They potentially have a very favorable path to make the quarterfinals. So then we can chant, we are at least #8! 🤣

Other fun facts about the USMNT:
--never played in the final;
--made the semi-finals only once, which was the inaugural 1930 cup (not like the modern game);
--since then, the team advanced to the quarterfinals once--2002.
