Here's what I've been up to most of the summer. Plan it to use it to make it easy to pack up and head wherever the snow is this winter. Also has and will be especially nice once it gets cold as a smoking lounge.

It's not quite done, but getting pretty close.

One of the guys I work with named her Chemiste.

Nice Justin! Is that a “mount on the bed of a pick up camper?”

Who is in the Marine Corps?

Got the heat shield in and tiled today, grout tomorrow. If I can find an angle to take a pic that hides how bad I am at hanging tile, I'll post it up.

Tileing in snowstorms is not fun...

Going to put some mdf covered in cigar bands on the back side of the heat shield. Anybody know if modhe podge dries clear, or if there's something better to use?

Do you still need bands? I found the box they were in, and my wife returned from her training course on Saturday. So, if you need, I can get some out in the mail for you.

Sitting waiting for car maintenance, so figured I'd add me more to this. Here's how it looked when I bought it.

After cleaning it and making sure everything was water tight, next step was tearing the rotten floor out, and making a little room so it will fit between the wheel wells in my little truck.

Surprise, the whole thing is basically foam!

Can't remember what I was screwing on the outside, but whoops...

Patched up the holes in the floor with some pieces of sheet metal and epoxy, and put a new floor in. Trying to keep everything as cheap as possible, and found some clearance faux wood flooring.

Also started on the couch/bed. In the interest of cheap, pretty much everything I made was out of broken down pallets and firring strips.

Still needed a little adjusting...

That's better, also got a coat of paint. It will be obvious that not all of this is getting posted chronologically if it wasn't already.

Bought a thin, memory foam mattress, and cut it up and upholstered it for the couch cushions/bed. Used the cheapest fabric I could find, it was basically free. Will be redoing these though with some faux leather, because it sucks and already has holes in it.

The suspension on the Dak going to handle that ok? I'm impressed with all the work you've done to it so far. Very cool!

It was fine, didn't even really weight it down hardly (1 benefit if it being almost all foam I suppose). Unfortunately though, it threw a rod, so is now in a different truck.
