Me as a wee one with my bottle of Abyss
Style: Imperial IPA
ABV: 10%
Availability: Spring Release
Origin: Milton, Delaware
Price: $ ?? / gifted to me by my west coast brother Chico
Appearance:
Poured an orangish-red...wow light is shining through (not use to this since I usually drink stouts), barely any head formed in my tulip glass. Head was white with very little lacing. The Appearance of tiny bubbles was very noticeable.
Smell:
The smell of citrus, grapefruit and vanilla. With just a hint of alcohol.
Taste:
Still getting use to IPA's but this one was awesome, you get that bitter sweetness of a grapefruit up front and as it changes flavor the oak stands out with an almost burnt marshmallow taste, then it fades to a sweet orange-vanilla after taste. Caught me totally off guard. WOW
Mouth feel:
Kind of dry. No stickiness.
Drink-ability:
This beer is very drinkable, very quenching. Even though this had 10% alcohol I didn't notice it at all in taste but hit me like a brick wall. I could've drank 2,3,5, maybe 7 more..JK LOL.
Overall Impression:
This is one of the best IPA's I've had. Very drinkable...keep you wanting more. Considering my love has been stouts, this IPA was really good and it really hit me hard. You east coasters are very lucky, wish this was readily available in my area

Thank you Chico this was an awesome choice!
