Thank you all for the prayers and warm wishes, I'll be sure to pass them along to Julie.
This has really freaked me out. I was so sure that it was nothing that I'm afraid that I was less supportive and sensitive to Julie and her fears than I should have been. I intend to make that that right.
One thing I've learned... that which does not kill me serves only to help me fully appreciate my next cigar.
This post is more of a journal for my own benefit. Maybe I'm hoping for something cathartic but it's mostly that I just need to get it out.
Last week my wife had a mass removed from behind her ear. Apparently she's had a pea sized lump for about six months but wasn't really concerned. Two months ago this thing began to grow and and in no time it was as big as my thumb. CAT scans and MRI's couldn't identify it so the doctors decided to take it out. Well, it was up against the facial nerve so things were a little tricky. It took two surgeons to remove it. In order to get to it they had to sever most of her ear and then reattach it afterwards. Neither of us expected that so we were a little shocked to see the incision. After the surgery, they said they couldn't tell what it was so they'd call us after they got the pathology report back the next day. Guess what, no call. We called to find out what the report said and were told she'd have to come in. Not a very encouraging response.
Well, it wasn't good but it could have been much worse. Today they told her that the mass was cancerous but they feel confident that they got it all. The bad news is that this form of cancer has a tendency to recur so she has to see the doctor once a month for the next two years.
Poor thing has had a rough go of it and is passed out up in the lounge right now. I don't want to wake her but it's time to close up shop and head home. Maybe I'll just let her have the place to herself for the next hour.
Both you and your wife will be in my familys prayers tonight and Sunday morning. She sounds like your best friend like my wife is to me. Lucky!!!!!!!!
Please keep her in your prayers.
Adding the two of you to my prayers. I understand fully what you two are going through as I have been doing the same this week myself only they found spots on my lungs. Preliminary reports say they really do not think that it is Cancer but we are still investigating to find out what exactly it is. Again You both are in my prayers, and preembargo, sounds like you are doing a great job supporting your better half  .
