Without fail, year-after-year, my wife spends her post-Christmas days standing in return-only lines. She retraces my original shopping path, only in her case she is bringing things into the store instead of taking things out.

This year will be different, however, because I have you fine people to guide me through!

So, if any of you long-term married people would care to share your "Secrets To A Successful Holiday Season", you have an interested and eager audience.

P.S. Special attention will be paid to posts from the cp women-folk! :p

If I were you I would by her a box of CIGARS and some HOCKEY Tickets!!! :D

That way she will only have to walk to the couch to return them!! :p LOL!!

Bro,

My wife is pretty easy to shop for, she usally tells me to go pick her out some new undies and a new pair of sneakers. And I have no prob with that, I am the Ultimate sneaker shopper(I must have 12 pair myself) and I'm sure as hell not affraid to shop at Vitoria  Secrets. Last year she got the undies, the shoes, and a real nice watch to replace the one that played the Mickey Mouse tune that I could not seem to get the battery out of.

This year the budget is tight so we are going out for a real nice dinner and a hockey game(belive it or not, she loves the Blue Jackets). The rest of the budget will be spent on the kids and moms and dads.

Didn't think about this very hard do you. Diamonds, it's always diamonds. Guarentee that won't get returned. ;)

I agree. Diamonds will NEVER get taken back (unless they are too small).

Go for it. A nice 1 carot diamond emerald cut will put you at the top of the list!!

Christmas lists.

We all write down the things we want. Make the list long so you won't really know what you are getting. The list is just a starting point.

We have been doing this for a few years and I haven't seen her return a gift, yet. :)

start out w/ choc. covered coffee beans and/or Godiva chocolates (trust me, they always work)

then a sweater from V.S. and a gift card for $50 (tell her she can buy whatever, [by whatever you men "something I will like"] :D )

dinner at home w/ candels is always cool, rent a movie

and voila, it is all good.

The guys who said diamonds are right on. But really any jewelry will do. Next to diamonds, GOLD is the answer. Big and heavy GOLD. If she likes clothes, visit the Limited. The girls in there will set you up. I even have my own credit card there for all those occasions. Let us know what you do.

Go for a nice tennis bracelet or a set of diamond earing studs can't loose. Another idea is to buy her a day a the local spa massage facial manicure and pedicure, then off to a nice dinner ;)

just my .02 good luck my wife is getting a new house so she has nothing to complain about.

BenjieV :D

Just by a sweater, but make sure it's 1-2 sizes smaller than she is. ;) :p She will love ya forever. :p

I can tell you what not to buy her... don't be like the guy on the Circuit City commercial... DO NOT BUY HER A TREADMILL! :0  :p

Aloha,

Wade

Have you seen those diamond necklaces with a three diamond pendant arranged vertically?

They look nice. You can tell here some sappy story about one diamond representing the love you have shared with her in the past. The second diamond represents the love you have for her now. THe third diamond represents the love the two of you will share in the future.

The story will make it more than just a gift and add a little personal flare.

If she takes that back, divorce her! :p

nice, sd.

You know, i've always heard that the colored stones are better... like an emerald or something.

Especially since they aren't technicallly worthless but have value only because of a certain diamond company regulating the circulation of diamonds.

If i ever had a girfriend... or a wife...

it would be cool. :sign:

GREAT JOB SD! That is exactly what I was going to post. I got my wife one of those pendents for christmas.

Jewerly is a good call just make sure you know what she likes. Also, in addition to treadmills...never purchase a woman something that is used in daily chores like...vaccum cleaner, washing machine, bread macker....these are nice for other people to get her but not you!

So getting her a new bedroom would be out of the question ??? LMAO

My wife is great to shop for. The only diamond she owned until last Christmas was her engagement ring. Her birthstone is pearl so she has gotten a boatload of pearl jewlery over the years and she loves everything I have bought her.

Last year I couldn't find anything with pearls that I though she would like but I did find a diamond pendant and earring set that I thought she would like, she did!

If you don't want to go the diamond route, go with something with her birthstone.

Make sure she wears Jewlry first. My wife is alergic to most of the cheap and even expensive jewlry except rings.

My wife is getting a Dell Dude! Bought her a mini van for her Birthday.....Well a coincidnece anyways that it was the same time of year:)

How bought a weekend retreat?
Bought my wife a message recliner last year for Christmas. She loves it.

nah, girlfriends are too much work.
now I have more freetime to sit on the couch and hang w/ my friends.

while true they are not especially rare, a certain company that started as a farm along the Orange River in South Africa, they still have 63% control over uncut diamonds.
Now if only they could do something about Australia's Argyle mine and the relatively new upstart mine up in Canada. ...

(see Mom, I have learned some cool things in skool.)

diamonds. ah yes!!!! never returned ;)

nice perfume, a sexy dress, a box of Excaliburs,a new cigarette case, nice shoes.. need i go on? just check with each other as to who is buying me what! ;)
