Happy Thread

My wife is going out of town tomorrow for a week. A little bit ago, she asked me if I had any hare-brained ideas planned. That is a fair question. When we lived in Tennessee, I had a new crossbow that I hadn’t had a chance to shoot much. The picture below is what happened the day she went out of town for work.

She’s happy I don’t have a crossbow anymore…

Finally got some tomatoes and cukes in the ground for the groundhogs, rabbits and possums to feast on in a couple months!! Too much rain in May.
Started my tool company and having a blast. The highs and lows are something to get used to, solving today's problem and meeting the challenges of tomorrow. Grateful and humble,, at peace.

Thurs night was my 26th high school graduation (after my own)... This is always a great day, and it can be an emotional night.

This one was special - my coworker's daughter who, along with her friends, have all essentially become my nieces, all graduated... We'll miss them hanging around our offices every day...

And I'm happy to report that I didn't screw up any names when I was reading lol!

Congrats to anyone else who had a family member or friend graduate!

My daughter just called to let me know that her significant other proposed last night, and she said yes! Then they asked me if I would officiate their wedding! Yes, among my many diverse talents, I'm an ordained minister!
My son made it his mission to also become an ordained minister. Sort of a tongue in cheek thing to do, but I do admire his willingness to help! I think he does now have three weddings under his belt - most were Star Wars themed!

But my son did tell me at one point I get my sense of humor from him. I tell him he's absolutely right - I had to develop a sense of humor because of him while he was in high school... Thank goodness he turned out well in the end and is occasionally officiating Star Wars weddings!

We just wrapped up our latest cruise on the Sun Princess to the Mediterranean - what an amazing trip. Really bummed when it ended... But we have an amazing travel adviser (she booked us on the cruise for an amazing price). After we returned she contacted us with her latest "deal" - so we are now booked on a cruise out of Southampton to see Spain, Portugal and the Canary Islands on the Celebrity Apex towards the end of 2026! Yay!!!

BTW - our travel adviser has been absolutely on top of everything - including doing the hard work to find us the best deals. She has helped us to arrange everything - not only the cruises, but also the air, hotels, transfers and excursion pre and post cruise. I have never had the level of service she's given us - including being there for us at about midnight the night before our cruise then there was a hiccup with our air travel. This is not at all a paid advertisement, but... If anyone needs a great travel advisor talk with Diana Bigby, owner of Shop Getaways. Her e-mail is diana@shopgetaways.com.

Congrats! I am ordained as well, and have done a handful of weddings - and just think... a perfect time to say "nevermind"!!! 🤣
