Happy Thread

I feel this so damn hard. A few years ago we shortened our holiday visit with our daughter here in Hawaii to fly back home to NL, lit'rally halfway around the world, in time to rescue our two dogs from the kennel before the crazy NYE fireworks. I couldn't live with myself knowing how scared to death they would both be in a dark, echoey concrete and metal jail with no one around them and all the other dogs going crazy and barking, too.

Braydon is finally out of reception in Ft Benning and was "picked up" for Basic Training this morning. He was in reception for almost 4 weeks and I could definitely tell it was wearing on him, just sitting around not doing a lot. Super excited for him and hope to see him in about 10 weeks, when he graduates BT and then goes to AIT.

He sent the below picture of him and some other SIT. He's the one in the Army shirt, sitting on the bunk.

Then we snapped this one, while he Facetimed us last night, to tell us he was leaving at 0230 this morning for BT.
