Birthday bottles from my wife

Nice haul today! Tried the triple oak angels envy on a recent trip to Nashville - really enjoyed it. And supposedly the James E Pepper is allocated - but I’ve heard great things so I could not pass on it.
The Pepper barrel proof decanter bottles have been out for a little over a year now. They vary batch to batch but are generally pretty decent, they tend to have a lot of baking spices on the palate.

I cracked it open this weekend and had a pour. It was on the spicy side (barrel proof), but I did note the baking spices you suggest. This is one that I would most definitely add ice to (I do prefer not to dilute my whiskey...) I would not call it my favorite, but it is a definitely nice whiskey. I don't regret adding it to my collection!

They were 89. If i had known i would have grabbed. 2nd for you
I'd love to ask for a second of just about everything you have in the collection. Which would inevitably lead to a 2nd mortgage on our house within the midst of a very messy divorce... Pretty sure momma would not see the value as I see it. 😔

I try my best not to think of what I have spent on bottles.

Trust me when I say I do too!!! But I have a very vocal guardian angel perches herself on my right shoulder, wielding a rolling pin, and very vocally reminding me how much I've spent and why it's unwise to upset the balance of the budget... But - my guardian angel has agreed to accompany me to a Weller's Dinner this coming Friday - where I most assuredly will plead my case on the necessity for me to own all of the Weller's collection at the end of the night. Hopefully I do not incur the wrath of the rolling pin.

Ok - so attended the Weller's dinner and we had a great time. The tasting was fantastic, filled with all kinds of information about BT, mash components for the various BT products and some great information the barrel manufacturing and aging process. And - my guardian angel even approved the purchase of a Weller's Antique to add to the collection. A good time was had by all!!!

Glad you had a good time, I've enjoyed the events at BT I have attended.
