I've been searching for a special cigar I'd like to have for my collection. I realize how rare it might be, but was hoping someone could send me a note with a possible source. I don't have a problem paying top dollar...If anyone has any, I would be willing to trade or purchase...

With that said, I'd like to buy 2...

Davidoff 80 Aniversario cigars.

 Sorry!

Holy cow. Way to shoot for the moon.

Even for my friend who is a Dunhill/Davidoff/Don Candido freak, his 80th's are the cigars he can't bring himself to smoke. Fondle, yes. Smoke, no.

Well, I figure they're only going to increase in value and cost more down the road, so I might as well try to find them now (should have tried years ago). I've contacted a couple dealers to see if they can find them. However, I'm thinking these are going to cost a ton, so maybe I only get one, the problem with that is, once you smoke it, it's gone, hence the desire for two!

Boy, that'll give you a case of blue balls.

Doc.

BTW,

What do you consider top dollar? If that ain't in the $500+ range per stick, then maybe you ought to think about starting smaller.

Oh, on the increase in value thing. Unless you buy a box and can document the provenance, your storage conditions and your reputation in vintage cigars, you will probably not be able to realize an appreciation on your investment. Folks in the know would consider a single from some unknown source to be far less valuable than what you might wish it to be. That said, some guy on a cigar board might buy it from you for more that what another collector might offer.

If capital gain is what you're looking for, this would be a poor way to go. My friend can make money from selling off bits and pieces of his collection but he's got time in, documented storage, provenance, and a broad inventory of, let's say, lots of $$$. Six figure's worth.

I'm not looking for an investment. I guess what I meant was, I'd like to have a couple of these 99 rated cigars to smoke. I think they are only going to cost more 5 years down the road, so I might as well buy them now...

I was expecting around $500 per stick.
