Apparently Padrón is taste testing a newly blended cigar; they don't know what line it might be a part of, or what the name might be. I got my grubby paws on one, a natural wrapper version... looks like a thicker, slightly longer No.35, but I'm told the blend inside is different from the 1964/1926 line.

This could be fun... Padrón is one of my favorite cigar makers.

Not yet. It's in cello, though, which is interesting... I'll take a pic later.

We'll all be hanging on your every word moki. New Padron is IMPORTANT!

Great scoop Moki  Whatever it may be called I'm willing to bet it will be as great as the other Padron favorites of mine!!!

So Moki when you are going to smoke it? Also any pics?

BTW where can I go and sell my soul as you apparently did to get my grubby paws on some of these rare prototypes? :sign:

Padrons sales are done dramatically, maybe this will perk them up a bit.

Just smokes a 35 this morning, this one souds grrrrrrrrreat. Hopefully they come to the general public and the underlings like me.

This cant happen...then outlaw wont have EVERY Pardron..haha. I cant wait to see pics and see what you have to say andrew. Thanks again for advanced notice.

I hope that doesn't mean they're dropping the Fumas line. :0

My impression was that the Fumas were made from leftover clippings. So unless thew new blend is going to be made from clippings, I think the Fumas should be safe.

Maybe not... in talking with Lee, he said that this will just be a new vitola in the 1964 line... sort of a 1964 version of the 1926 No.35.

While I think that's a cool idea, we already have the Principe, which is 4 1/2" x 46... I'm not sure I see the point. IMHO, there are already more than enough vitolas in the 1964 line.

Something doesn't quite make sense.

:sign: Poor move IMO, if this is the case. What would be compelling would be a line that is lighter, yet creamy and fragrant while still maintaining essential elements of the Padron character. Perhaps an analog to the La Gloria Cubana Reserva Figurados. Just my 2 cents.

Wilkey

I agree. While I love the 35, I don't see how a '35' version of the '64 would make sense, unless they're discontinuing the Principe. I wouldn't put discontinuing the Principe past them, though. I have to admit, seeing a 35 sitting next to the Principe for nearly the same price, I'll pick up the 35 almost every time.

Is it true that Padron sales are down significantly? That's too bad. They're definitely my favorite. Guess I need to buy more. ;)

I heard that the Pyramid has been dropped from the '64 line. Any truth to that? Looking at MMM's pinned thread on Padron, I can see your point Andrew. The line is pretty full already. But you have to admit it is a great looking stick! :)
