Occupations - what do you do?

I'm new but curious as to what everyone does ( occupation wise). I was reading the threads about - "what are you smoking this week", "what did you smoke today". I notice that alot of you smoke two or more sticks a day. With all of the anti smoking restictions going into effect you obviously just can't light up anywhere you feel like it and most can't smoke at work or maybe you can.

That being said - I'm an insurance agent- usually in the office ( non smoking) by 7:30 until early afternoon after that I go to my store ( 15 minute commute) and work there daily and weekends. The mall I'm in is a non smoking mall so you can't even smoke in my store  Most nights I have time to burn one even if it's past my bedtime! because a man has to do what a man has to do!

Soooo, just curious if the occupation that you have affords you the opportunity to enjoy a stick while you do what you do.

I'm a laboratory technician for a global chemical company. I've been there since I was 22 (13 years ). It's a great job other than the hours I work....a 12 hour rotating shift...every 2 weeks I change from days to nights. If I'm on nights, I might be able to fire one up, day shift is way too busy though.

I am a Vegetation Specialist, and have had a business doing so for 6 years.

I'm a Papermaker.I work on a Beloit Newsprint machine 27#,30#, and 32# lb. We run 4500fpm, the #2 machine runs 5950fpm (Valmet)Been there for going on 13 years, I work in the stockprep lab, basically I just make sure the correct chemicals at the correct dosage gets in the process to give us a sheet that meets the specs for the grade we are running at that time. Work swing shift, its a 1 month long shift. that just repeats FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! 12 hour shifts(8hrs on thurs and fri) Nothing fancy, it's a job!

Edit: No Cigars at work for me...can't enjoy them. Shit can go to hell in a handbasket at anytime.

I'm a helicopter mechanic/electrician. I am 29 and have been in aviation almost a decade!

I work in the last large factory in Sydney city(35 acres).
I set up and operate a sheet metal press and wheelabrating shot blaster the size of a semi Truck and Trailer
No smoking allowed inside the factory.
The noise where I work is deafening even with earplugs,so by the time I get home I am primed and ready for a quite cigar and a drink.
Work sucks, but at the end the day it has provided my with two houses in New Zealand,a nice collection of cigars and a pantry filled with high quality food and cooking ingredients. (My other passion is food and cooking).
My official title (lol) is 1st Class Sheetmetal Worker.
Prior to this job I spent most of my working life as a contract Center Lathe Turner, traveling around Aussie, New Zealand and the UK working on different projects.

We own a nursery and a retail store. I think i have the nursery to support the retail store (interior design stuff, she also has a design business). Could smoke at the nursery, but don't.

I am a telecommunications contractor.
Single Dad with 4 kids

I always have my travel Humi with me with a stick or two in it.
Sometimes I have one during the day.
My main cigar time is around 9:30. The kids are in bed and me and the dog sit on the deck and I have a smoke and a glass of J W Black.

I am a Service Manager for a company that specializes in Emergency Vehicles/Equipment. We do sales and service on fire & rescue vehicles. The stakes are high and, it gets stressful so, I wish I could smoke at work sometimes. I like the field I am in but, the pace is just too much at times.

I have been looking to get on with a local county for a little slower pace and still be able to keep excellent benefits. I would also be able to stay in a job I am good at.

I'm a senior at Ohio State studying Turfgrass Science.
I have two jobs right now, on the golf course at Scioto C.C. and bartending at an Irish pub on the weekends.

I could smoke at the course... but choose not to. The bar I work at has 3 bars inside... mine used to be the cigar bar. Now Ohio's non-smoking though.

I'm a Project Manager for Whiting-Turner and specialize in building food processing and warehousing/cold storage warehousing buildings. I can smoke at work before we get the building closed in, but usually don't. I like to relax and lounge around when I'm smoking a nice cigar.

Edit to add: I'm currently in Rochester building a pasta production and distribution facility for Barilla. The amount of pasta they can make in a day is incredible.

I work for your main competitor in the DC/Baltimore market! I'm in Project management for a big construction company. I can smoke before we close in the building. I love taking a break from the paper work of the job and walking around the site watching it go up while smoking a cigar. Only thing better is being at the local B&M involved in some good conversation or being out in nature for a walk and a smoke.

I left Managing MFG plants and became a mentor. The money sucks but, the smiles are priceless.
