If I wanted immersive I would read a book.
Jim, we all know you can't read...
Tom, I hear ya on the Left 4 Dead game. I played a level or two with Jim online a couple times, and although it was alright, it wasn't breathtaking and it didn't make me see Jesus.
I echo Joe Joe's sentiments in that I am a fan of the zombie genre, but I just can't get into the mindless "point-shoot-rinse-and-repeat" model that is L4D. I tend to prefer to own more tactically sound games that use planning, intelligence, and strategy incorporated into the First Person Shooter genre.
Now before someone jumps my shit and says, "STFU dude, how more tactical and strategical can you get when you're surrounded by 100 zombies and you only have a double barrel shotgun with 30 rounds," that's fine because it works for YOU. I admit L4D was fun to play, and probably just a "renter" for me, but definitely not an owner.
I appreciate immersive story driven games like Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Halo, and Rainbow Six. I also appreciate tactical shooters like Rainbow Six, Call of Duty MW, and Flashpoint.
I'm still second guessing CODMW2... Wonder if I should rent it before I open up my copy... ???
