Plume or Mold?

CigSid said:
Michael, most likely these were exposed to the mold before you received them. A lot of stores over-humidify their cigars, and if you get any cigars in the tubes, check them periodically. The spores when starting out are very small and you cannot tell there is mold there... Then it slowly grows in the "perfect" environment (or pretty much any environment)...

I use nano-silver mixed with my distilled water, and this eliminates any possibility of contracting mold, and keeps the spores from spreading if there is mold introduced to the environment. It is odorless and tasteless, as well as non-toxic...
That's brilliant Bill... My family & I take (Nano)Silver on a regular basis. I never thought to mix it with the distilled water for cigars.
Thanks a million!!

My pleasure guys, this has been my little secret for years...

Liar, how about the midget porn? Good info though Bill.

Michael, that's not mold but good old fashion plume.  That stuff is hard to come by and as you know takes a while for it to form so consider yourself one of the lucky ones. Perfectly safe to smoke.

 I knew it! My secret is that I add Nano Rhodium to my distilled water, it transform my humidor into a hyperbolic time chamber, a single day in there counts a whole year of aging!

If it's green and smells moldy then it's most definitely mold! I get plume on certain cigars but it's dusty and doesn't leave a discoloration when wiped off. Usually in high humidity high temperature you really run the risk of mold. I am rather lucky out here. The average temperature is around 60 to 65 degrees and humidity is a solid 64% since I'm about 2 miles from the ocean. I find that the Habano 2000 wrappers are very prone to plume. Never had a mold issues, knock on cedar wood, nuk nuk! I dry out a lot of Spanish cedar in the oven and put it back in the humidors and tupperdors to control humidity.

What is a safe amount of Nano Silver Colloidal Silver to add to distilled water for an end table sized Humidor?

About 1 ounce per gallon of distilled water. If your container is 8 ounces, you would add about 2 grams of silver.

To whomever is using Doug’s Cigarpass account; we are all sorry for your loss. Doug was a great brother and member here at CP and as shown above by Bill @CigSid we will all honor his memory by helping you whenever needed.

In terms of mold, be careful on cigars that have cedar wrappers.

I had some Anejos that I had to pull the cedar wrappers from.

It seems to love to hide under the cedar.
