RIP Jimmy Buffett

Mother, Mother Ocean
I can hear your call ...

RIP Jimmy from an old Parrot Head. 🦜

I feel like a member of my family died!
me too. Lotta good memories involving Jimmy Buffett. I think one of the things that really sits heavy with me today is that, JB is my parents age, and was the music my Dad listened too. It is putting a spotlight on my parents mortality along with the mourning of JB.

I met Jimmy backstage at the very first concert of his I went to in 1985.

He was as laid-back and easy-going as you would imagine from listening to his music.

My entire family is spread out all over the place today but at noon we are all going to do a shot to Jimmy.

Came here to post this article. But, unsurprisingly, Jeff already had. I thought the same thing Jon, reading the article, I was thinking to myself that Jimmy was born in 1946 and my dad in 1943.
In 1987 as a young Marine stationed at NAS Key West I was walking around in town and saw something going on. I just happened to walk up on the opening of Jimmy's first Margaritaville restaurant and was like the 5th person in. No internet back then to generate so much buzz like today. Met him and didn't even know it at the time. He was just a regular, down to earth dude at the time. Even though I knew the song Margaritaville playing in the background, you could have put Jimmy in a line up and I couldn't tell you who was the guy who sang the song.
I just remember walking away thinking "I guess he's the owner. Nice guy!"

Margaritaville Is the place to be, friendly, great drinks and it feels like home. Had the pleasure of visiting two of them, Florida and Mexico. As a musician I really enjoyed the song, kind of got my wires uncrossed. Gonna miss you man, but keep a seat open for me, wacting to jam with you.

Blessed to have experienced his one of a kind music, style, and character in our lifetime. Enjoy your cheeseburgers in the real paradise.

I remember my High School pencil thin mustache and playing why don’t we get drunk…lol

RIP Jimmy
