My wife is a partner in an optical chain / optometrist clinic and I can vouch that you really do get what you pay for. There are a few sunglasses companies that truly have quality products for everyday and more professional activities All the rest are either cheap garbage lenses or ok quality but mad expensive because of royalties paid to top designer brands for licensing their names

As for sunglasses, I guess I'm in the minority here. My sunglasses usually last me for years, even with daily wear. I tend to take care of my things, and usually get to the point where I'm forced by the family to update what I have for something new. I've been wearing the same pair of Wiley X shades since we first moved here in 2019. I'd still be wearing my 12-year-old pair of Wileys if the sulfer in the air at Volcano on the Big Island didn't start delaminating the UV coating on the lenses. Hell, I've been wearing the same G-Shock watch for 14 years.

The CFO of the company I used to work bought the cheapest shades he could. He had back problems and could not pick them up if he dropped them. He always had at least 5 pair in his car for such the occasion.

@IngloriousBasterd is the place you're talking about Fuse Lenses? I have bought a few replacement sets for some Oakley's I have and have been really impressed with the fit and quality of the replacements.

Actually it was the company @CBoukal just posted above. They were great lenses and they fit well. I had one pair that was an older frame of the same model and Oakley had changed the shape a bit and they swapped out the right fit for free when I couldn’t get them to fit

I've bought 6-7 pairs of lenses from them and had great luck. My son trashes his lenses during baseball season and we replace them basically once a year. My wife is equally hard on lenses.
