When this is complete, what height will it be and approximate weight? Have to complement you for the attention to detail. Have really enjoyed following this.
Should be right at 8ft tall when it's done. Weight - probably 250lbs +/- a few. 50lbs per spirit and the base plate weighs 50lbs by itself. Depending on how stable it is when finished, I can fill the bottom one with sand for another 150lbs of ballast. I don't think it will need it, but better safe than sorry. When this is complete, what height will it be and approximate weight? Have to complement you for the attention to detail. Are those blank military dog tags?
I the old days 30 years ago we had wonderful gardens in our back yard. I would have put this out there and my wife would have found some vine things to intertwine with the eagles wings. Believe it would have knocked our socks off. Hell of a job brother.
One piece at a time lol. Pounded a 3ft length of rebar through a hole in the plate and welded them together. I made hidden connections with nutserts, tabs, and male/female vertical posts - then tack welded them together. The wings fit into tabs and are screwed on after the eagle is stacked. How the heck did you get it all assembled? A crane? A pyramid of acrobatic friends?
