The Masters

Didn't he pop into a major after an extended absence once (or maybe more) before? Seems like I remember him starting off like gangbusters but maybe suffered an injury before the tourney was over.

He hasn't played since the car wreck 14 months ago

I should say he hasn't competed in 14 months.

I heard "hasn't officially competed". The hell does that mean?

He hasn't played in a Tour event. He has done a couple charity things and I'm sure he plays with his buddies.

The way they said it made it sound like he had competed, but not officially? You're probably right though, I know he hasn't played in any PGA events like you said.

In case anyone cares, you can sign up for a free 7 day trial of paramount + and watch the masters this weekend. Just set a reminder to cancel it before the 14th and you won't pay anything.

I thought it’s still being aired free all weekend on masters.com? From my understanding they make it a point to always offer a free option to watch.

My buddy went a couple of years back and they also make almost no money off of food/drinks sold at the event. He said he bought 2 beers and 2 sandwiches and it was like $11 total.

I think he and his son competed in a father-son challenge but as you said nothing was an official Tour event.

It's a shame with all the fascinating stories in this year's Masters, that the media chooses to cover virtually every shot by Tiger.

Tiger said on a interview that playing was not a problem, it was the walking that was going to bite him. But this year he is a major draw just because of being who he is and sadly, because everyone wants to see how he does since the accident.

Well going into the weekend will be much different I imagine. Today was somewhat historical, considering the official comeback. He didn't disappoint with a 1 under round.

Absolutely incredible that he can be anywhere near competitive after everything he's been through.

I've never been a fan, but found myself cheering for him today. Also just took my snowboarding stuff out of my car and loaded up my clubs, going to go get the first 9 of the year in, maybe 18 depending on how I feel.
