Today’s Smoke 2019

I was gifted this stick by Bill ( CigSid ), as a you have to try this one. The note said EAU JUN 08. Can't speak for you folks, but a Salomon is a smart looking stick. This guy was stunning, with only very minor vein. I sniffed the stick was immediately hit by overall honey, not typical hayu or grass. Decapped it and lit up. Must say the first third was pleasant but nothing outstanding other than good smoke. Going imto the second third the nuts kicked in, very specifically cashews, I'm very positive of that, and I LIKE cashews. The taste was heavy and I was having a ball. There was not rush in smoking this, but sooner or later the last third comes up. Easing into the last third a sweetness appeared hinting at raisins with a peach undertone. It was heaven. Nothing overpowering but it was there teasing me and I enjoyed the diversion. Hell of a smoke lasting 2.5 hours leaving me with fond memories and a great experience. Thank you Bill for the opportunity in this lifetime.

Knowing Bill the way I do, you just made his day more than he made yours. Glad you enjoyed that!

No photos (would have been bad form in company), but had a CoRo and Fonsecas No. 1 last night at LCDH while watching football with some new friends there. I also had an amazing local beer by a company named Kampaan. It is an imperial stout called "Bloed Broeder" (Blood Brother), and is there darkest, heaviest offering, weighing in at 9.1%. So freakin' good -- and inexpensive, too!

This was my first Monte white series. Didn’t really pick up until the midway point. Anyone else have a similar experience with these or should I get let the rest of them sit for a while? View attachment 27592
When I tried these a year or so back it was meh. Like you said, picking up near the end for me. If you let them rest they honestly get more meh. I ended up focusing more on the Arturo Fuentes line after those for more flavors

It was a good cigar not sure it is worth the price. I can't say if it is the same as a banded one since I have never smoked one.
I see his price went down, put it more in line with what I think it is worth. The banded one would need to be significantly better to make it even remotely worth the cost. IMHO

I agree! Haven’t really cared for these at all. I’m hoping time will work some magic in them.

Every time I light up one of these old and crusty Charlottes, I have to wonder what idiot at Habanos decided to discontinue them in 2002.27602
