First cigar on the new (yet not finished) patio. The first Cuban cigar that got me thinking there might be something to this country, after all!

Had the worst experience tonight with an H. Upmann mag 46. 2018 date code.
Dry boxed for 4 days, burn was terrible. Had to fight to keep it lit.
Stored in my cooler at 65 RH just like every other stick I’ve smoked. Never have encountered a problem stick like this one. Hoping it was just a bad egg.

Myself and at least one or two others have had bad luck with 2018 Mag 46s, unfortunately -- bad burns, really poor draw, and just not great all-around. Did you have a box of them?

Loved them both. The Sin Compromiso was very oaky throughout (I think that's what I was getting), and there was no harshness to it at all. Only complaint was that it wasn't a smoke bomb, and I felt that if I let it rest for too long it would go out quickly. Didn't have that problem, though, and I enjoyed it immensely. Boxworthy, for sure, if a good deal is found. The Protocol was a first for me from any of their line. It WAS a smoke bomb, and though I was afraid it was slightly underpacked because it was kind of squishy, it burned and smoked quite well. Not sure about a full box, but I'd definitely smoke it again and keep a few on hand. Thank you again, my friend!
