I find this to be true for a lot of cigars today. Objectively there are a lot of good cigars, but they just don't stand out to me for one reason or other. Not an issue or a bad thing; in fact it is great that there are such a large number of good cigars! I just find it hard to buy a box of something that does not wow me now a days. Why buy something just because it is new, if it does not stand against a Padron Thousand series or a RomaCraft? That's about how I felt with the one ADV that I have had. I was impressed with the construction and it was objectively a good cigar, just not my preferred flavors. I will be curious to see what you think about the others!
And with all these $20+ cigars, if they can't compete with a Byron or Atabey, why bother?
