What’s on the grill/smoker today? 2021

Since I have gout that incapacitates me, I can not eat (any) meat ☹️
However my son has been working ( and learning ) at a great bbq place in Ft Worth. I visited last November and risked sampling a little- and it was the best I’ve ever had! Not just because I’ve gone without for 5 years.
I won’t mention the name because I’m not sure of your rules here.
Also- I visited the best cigar lounge I’ve been to in the US. It was in Lake Worth 😁
................ Texas seems to have all the best stuff!

Before you go teasing us with all this prime rib and stuff, the least you could do is cook on that grill at least once before! Don't have to be busting out the brand new grill porn on us! :D
After around 12 years & replacing almost every part, the side rotted out. I wanted to just fabricate a new side for the repair, but my wife said enough is enough. Picked it up on Saturday, used on Sunday. Did some marinated chicken breast & grilled vegetables last night.

If I showed you pictures of my grill you might question how I can feel safe eating off it! Lol.
Well it ain’t that bad but it’s sure as heck well seasoned!

Summer is almost here, may be time again for smoker porn lol.

Its starting to get more seasoned. :) What kind of rig is that?

Forgot the name but I think it is a Char Grill. I left for Myrtle Beach today, won't be back home to find out for 10 days. I bought it at Lowes, & it is a 4 burner stainless steel unit, paid $299. It also has a side burner. So far I am really happy with it.

Looks like it came with stainless steel grates. I like those for cleanup over coated grates or cast iron. Which reminds me that mine definitely need to be cleaned soon.

Yes it has stainless steel grates. Cost $ 50. bucks more than the same exact grill that has coated grates & no wheels but I think worth it. So far I am really liking it.

Some one once told me this was referred to as Chicago style. Char on the outside and medium rare on the inside. My absolute favorite!

I grew up just north of Pittsburgh and I always heard it referred to as "Pittsburgh style" and I thought it was just a western Pa. thing but I was in California and ordered a steak charred and rare and he said "oh, you want it Pittsburgh style".:)

I am going to smoke a corned beef today on an old charcoal smoker. My electric smoker is at my cabin and I will struggle to get the temp right, I will struggle to control the amount of smoke, but I won't struggle to eat it! :)

I soaked it for 12 hours, dry rubbed it 24 hours ago, and will put it on at about 10 AM. I see beer, bourbon, and cigars in my near future.
