What’s on the grill/smoker today? 2021

This came up in my "news" feed probably because I spent too much time looking at accessories for my BGE.
Nothing really new for some but may be for others, The old chestnut about not using lighter fluid of course. While the thought is in the right place it isn't using fluid that is the problem it is not using it properly. If you use a chimney and lighter fluid you have to wait until all the charcoal / briquets are lit before dumping it in you grill and adding stuff on top. Same if you do a TeePee You have to give it time to BURN off not just evaporate. Easier said than done. I used to use corn oil to start my chimney but now I have an electric probe that does the trick - sprta looks like a potato masher.

Back when I more serious about my charcoal cooking I had one of these.

A chimney will set nicely on top and it will have that dude a rocking with flames out the top in no time at all. No fussing with newspaper etc. and slow start. I dont care for briquets, they give food a petroleum taste from all the binders and stuff in them but I do use them in a pinch.
