46 years ago today the Edmund Fitzgerald went down.

Departed from Wisconsin, headed to Detroit. The wreck was located near Sault Ste. Marie Michigan. Last transmission to a neighboring freighter was made at 7:10pm where the captain stated “Were holding our own.”
