Does anyone practice Intermittent Fasting?

I rode with a sales guy last week during a training and he had an interesting approach. He fasts from 7pm to 7am. He drinks breakfast (protein shake or diet Coke)...eats a salad with some meat in it for lunch...and then eats meats & veggies for dinner while he stays away from carbs. But he's a beer lover, so he goes a week on, a week off with beer based on his social calendar (when he hangs out with the guys). Says he lost 30lbs. and has kept it off for 4 years.

Problem i have with IF is i do cardio early am, and i get so dang hungry, it overides my desire to eat clean. Need to drop about 10#

Down 50 lbs since starting. Pretty ceazy how this works so well for me. Going to start some cardio/weights as well.
Woah! Woah! Woah! Pics or it didn’t happen!
Even if you just text them to me because you don’t want them on here.

I've been at it for about a week and a half, now. I think all but two days I have been able to adhere to the 16/8 rules. I'm not actively counting calories, though just trying to be smart about it and not gorging for eight hours straight on ice cream and chocolate. Obviously, physics still applies in relation to calories in vs. calories expended. I'm interested to see how my body reacts to the change in timing of caloric distribution, versus evenly spaced throughout the day. I think I'm past the initial part where my body revolts against my attempt, and we're settling in for the work to begin. I'm not using a scale (I don't even own one), but rather basing my results on how the socket for my prosthesis fits -- that's the main reason I'm doing this.

The obesity code, book by jason fung. Got me into fasting and has guidance along with studies and explanation if ya'll are wanting some reading material.

I think week 3 is a lot harder than day 3. I thought I was "killing it" on day 3, my body told me I was hungry and I said STFU body we got this. Now that I am at week 3 or a little further I find myself trying to "bend the rules" say on Saturday to have breakfast with the family. I suppose any diet as you get further into you find yourself resisting less on breaking the rules.

I'll have to look into that book.

So do I need to buy the hard copy of the book so I can reference back and highlight things easier? Or is reading it once good and just get the ebook?

In January, I was at 235, not my highest weight, but certainly uncomfortable and unsightly... I studied David Sinclair’s “Longevity doctrine”, and read his book. I saw every video, podcast, etc... I was sold. I learned about “hormesis” (pretty much what doesn’t kill you, makes you stronger) living longer (and healthier) longevity mix and intermittent fasting. By March, I had dropped below 200 for the first time in 20 years. By June I dropped below 190, and now I am at a healthy and slim 182. My biological age went from 68 to 48, I haven’t felt this good in a long time.
