College Football

Several top-15 teams lost. Man, the SEC just eats itself. Glad to see Bama lose, though.

New overtime format is crazy!
What is the new overtime format? I wasn't aware they changed it.

I guess that might explain how there were NINE FREAKIN OVERTIME PERIODS and the final score was only 20-18!

After the first 2 possessions for each team like in the past, if still tied each team gets 1 chance from the 2 point conversion line until one team wins. There were no successful attempts for like the first 5 rounds in that game.

So, two 20-yard drives, and then they alternate one play each from three yards out? As a fan, that sucks. However, I did read a wee bit on the reasoning, and I guess it's to keep injuries down (which it apparently failed to do). There's an asterisk next to "the first 9OT game" for me. Arkansas/Ole Miss and LSU/A&M 7OT games were epic, and definitely carry more "record overtime" weight in my eyes.

Yep, that's how it works, and completely agree on the asterisk.

Are you all ready for the Michigan vs Michigan State game? I’m torn. Always been a Michigan fan, but my daughter goes to MSU.

Received a call from my nephew last Friday ( I am very close to him & more like a grandfather) who goes to West Virginia U. He said he has an extra ticket for the Texas game on November 20th, & asked if I would like to drive down & go to the game with him. I immediately said yes & can’t wait to go.
So today, the FedEx driver delivers me a package that contains a WVU throwback jersey with the #5 on it and the name White on the back.
Pat White was their QB around 2006 & led them to 4 Bowl wins.
Looking forward to this experience.

I remember Pat White, he played with Slaton right? White was a lot of fun to watch.

Yes he did. Steve Slaton was a tailback for the team. The other running back was Owen Schmitt. They made quite a backfield. Slaton came in 4th in the Heisman voting. He still holds the record for WVU 1 game rushing TD’s with 6.
After reading about this team, they had some really good players at that time.

I totally forgot about Schmitt! Seems like they had a good receiver on that team too, but I can't remember who. Had to have been before Chris Henry, right?
