Any Gym Rats Here?

Just finished a killer KB workout today, every minute on the minute (EMOM):

3 rounds:
KB floor press
Single Arm squeeze press
SA raised push up
DA (double arm) curl
SA hammer curl
DA curl to shoulder press
DA overhead tricep extension
Close grip push up
DA swing

Then finished off with a 1 mile jog. Not gonna lie, I suck at pushups. I'm DEAD, tired and hungry!

Pffft...you guys have to pay and go to a gym? All I need is a couple kitchen chairs and a mop handle.🤣

I used ChatGPT to create a KB and running program, for 2 weeks. Pretty cool. It will even take your KB weights you have and your mile pace and make the program even more streamlined to you.

Funny this came up at this time. I'm a mess and getting worse. Trained in karate with my kids for nearly 15 years, 3-4x per week, have a fully equipped gym in the basement. But when I started living/working out of a Chicago apartment about 15 years ago, I just quit everything, and I'm a freaking mess now.

I'm going to use the FSA program at work to pay for some 1-on-1 sessions with a fitness trainer and get him to work up a program for me (I'm 69 now), with emphasis on stretching and mobility, as well as strength training. After getting started, I'm planning to continue the workouts at home. One of my daughter's friends is a 5th dan and runs the dojang I used to train at (my master is about 76 now and has turned most of the instruction over to her and a group of about a dozen black belts). If I can get some mobility back I may actually start the karate up again. Some of my old bastage friends have kept it up over the years and still train. The thought of starting that back again scares me a little.

But I gotta do something. I'm turning into the tin man on wizard of oz.

I've never cared for the gym. Going in the morning before work and having a shower/change there just isn't appealing to me. Then going at night at the end of a long days work, also is not appealing to me.

I ride my peloton every day first thing in the morning. Then I use my bow flex every other day. I max out the weight/resistance I lift to where I can complete five sets of 20 for every muscle group I'm focus focusing on. I have a love-hate relationship with cardio, but it's hard to beat that runners high. It's definitely noticeable with my resting heart rate being between 47 to 52 bpm. Reading Brandon's post reminded me that I need to go check out/purchase some kettle bells. Peloton now has classes specifically for just kettle bells.
