I just picked up a new (slightly used) full frame lens (28-300mm ED) for my D800 off of eBay. Was testing it out for the first time and I am very pleased with the results! Glad you liked them

Beautiful pair of Sandhills Cranes a few blocks away from our house. Stunned to see them wandering the edge of a field. Ran back home to grab the camera.

With the hummingbirds anything above 1/2000 does a good job stopping the wing movement.

If it makes you feel any better - neither was I until I started playing around with my camera. Some of the pictures are so cool It just has become very addictive. And my wife is my spotter - she points out things I miss - she's really getting into it too!
